I’m giving them one start no because the food, which was amazing. Even the waitress was very kind too, how ever I really would like to share what happened: we are an Hispanic couple, we got to the restaurant, it was very busy, but we saw the manager and tried to speak with him, from the beginning he was rude, he said if we had reservation and as we didn’t have, he said, no. Then in that moment, I booked a table for 15 minutes later, we arrived again 15 minutes later to tell him, we got it and he ignored is completely for 10 minutes, I tried to speak to him twice to show him my cellphone, so he can realized I had a reservation, but he just ignored me. He set two tables with two couples, and he just ignored me, then when he finally had to come to us, because we still there, we was completely rude, he said what!, I told him, he said but what time, he said that we had to give him time, 10 minutes after he took us to the table.

I’m writing this because we felt discriminated, And I want him to know we felt that way, so he can realized that everyone no matter what race we are, should me treated in the same way. I’m writing this because he, and I’m not supposing, was absolutely rude and mean, just with us, he shows us, like “an Hispanic couple could not come here to this fancy and European restaurant, they are less than us and they usually are our employees, so I’m no going to be nice with them, they don’t deserve it” I’m saying this, not because I imagined that, is because it happened and this kind of treatment cant be repeated and this person must think about it and change how he sees Hispanic customer, that we are like regular customers and no less than...

Le Parisien was an adorable French café. This small restaurant was perfect for casual French dinner in Murray Hill!

We were seated right away, once our full party arrived. The bistro is very small, once seated, you can see everyone in the restaurant (seats about 20 inside). You can also see the kitchen cook from most seats at Le Parisien. The French host and hostess also served as the waiter and waitress.

The food was good to excellent! I enjoyed the savory garlicky escargots, the crispy baguette with the pate, the seared medium rare duck breast, and the sweet reduced French Onion soup! The bread was perfect for soaking up the garlic parsley sauce with the meaty escargots! The seared duck breast with leeks and chives was so mouthwateringly delicious! The crispy duck skin and pink tender breast with the rich umami sauce. I should have ordered two of these. The French Onion soup was delicious too! So many onions rendered into this beef broth soup. The pate was a little dry and the desserts were ok. I would avoid the desserts here. The meringue island was unique: it tasted like a sweet marshmallow in a slightly soup sweet soup. But I agree with my friend, it was unique but I would not order it again. The crème brulee needed more carmelization. And the profiteroles were a little doughy and soggy. Overall, great food! I would...

There’s a lot of high ratings here but I don’t think the five stars are that accurate. Or maybe our experience was different because we didn’t sit inside. The place was packed with people and they all seemed to be having fun but because it was packed we had to take our meal outside in the rain with no heat. I didn’t mind personally but the company I was with definitely seemed cold. They could benefit from some heat lamps outside. The food itself was okay. It didn’t transport me to Paris but it was adequate. Presentation was gorgeous though. Most of the dishes were lukewarm by the time they arrived. I would’ve enjoyed the food more if it were warmer. The desserts were definitely the best part of the meal. Although the tart tartin was a bit more acid/sour than I would’ve liked, the ice cream helped a little bit. The profiteroles and the floating island were really good. The sauce the floating island comes with; delicious. It had an almost creme brûlée taste. If you were to visit I would recommend the duck or one of their fish dishes for your entrees. Service was decent; they checked on us frequently and they were friendly and welcoming. But not somewhere I...

This small French Bistrot is a treat. The menu is classically French and simple. Soups, salads, several options for bowls of mussels, steak and frites, chicken paillard, escargot, etc. The dishes are carefully prepared with simple excellent ingredients, and also served with care. A modest and effective wine list. And all at very reasonable prices. I found Le Parisien while walking to the metro at dinner time in an area I don’t normally find myself - the draw was the vibrant busy crowd in a very nondescript simple venue. Voila! They are all here with good reason and it’s all about the food, the neighborhood ‘vibe’. You have the sense that everyone is a repeat regular visitor. Perhaps local. A return trip for lunch validated the dinner experience. It’s now a destination stop for an upper east sider. Book ahead. Only 25 to 30 in this small space.
