Bua — Restaurant in New York

The bouncer, “Mr. Peters”, physically harassed me at the entrance by clotheslining me against my chest because I was distracted and forgot to take out my ID. As a 5’4” woman, I did not expect a man to put his hands on me before even asking for my ID. He said no words to me to ask for the ID and physically harassed me while I was distracted in mid conversation with a friend. I will never return. The manager here and bar owner of the Spaniard, Michael Mcferran, has yet to respond to my 2 email inquiries and 1 phone call since the night of the incident on June 11th, at 10:30pm. According to these reviews and the reviews at “The Spaniard” this has become a pattern of denial to all allegations against the bouncer and false reviews to make the place look better. Do not go here. They do not respect their partisans and will never get back to you if you raise concerns. All they will say is to contact their email address but will never respond to you. So, don’t waste your time or money.

What a terrible time... TLDR: Awful Service (they activated the fraud on our cards), terrible food (especially for the price), and mediocre drinks. 0/5 My friends and I were trying to enjoy someone's 21st birthday, we were bar Hopping and showing him the ropes of NYC. We stumbled upon Bua with high hopes, those hopes being that it would be a bar. We weren't prepared for how dramatic and unorganized the place would be. We ordered fish tacos and a burger, and what came out were middle school cafeteria level dishes at NYC prices. The wine came in tiny 6oz cups for 10 ea. And the bouncer was incredibly rude to us the entire time because we looked younger. Our waitress messed up the bill not once, or twice, but three times!!! She swiped our cards so many times that our banks all flared up with fraud alerts, and when I tried to leave to call my bank to sort it out the bouncer wouldn't even let me outside until I dragged dhim over to the bartender to explain (ludicrous I know). I have been coming to this bar for years because everyone that works there is beyond exceptional. I met Ronan first who made the best pickletini I’ve ever had - he also makes you feel welcome from the get! Benji is unhinged in the best way but brings the vibes and excitement!! Brian’s Sunday emo night had everyone in the bar scream singing and I wouldn’t trade it for the world after a long shift. Erin is the best Tuesday staple!! I live in Brooklyn and will come to the city on my day off to see her every time. My sister and I met Shannon and she took the best care of us even when it’s busy.
