THIS WINEBAR IS WAY TOO LOUD and TRYING TOO HARD. Screaming over the music to talk to your friends is really annoying and tiresome. It is definitely not a good wine bar to go to if you are looking to relax and have a glass of wine. THIS RESTAURANT GIVES WINEBARS A BAD NAME. The music they played was for a dance club but even dance clubs don't blast music at 7pm! Also, if you are looking to host an event and have to deal with the owner of the place, you should definitely rethink the venue. THE OWNER IS RUDE. My friend booked a dinner at 10 degrees bistro around the block for 15 people and the owner didn't even tell her that the bistro closed for business. She found out by walking by and seeing that the bistro was closed. When she spoke to the owner, he said he could accommodate her at the bar. My friend said that loud noise and base is an issue for her migraines and he blatantly lied to her saying that it won't be an issue, obviously not wanting to lose business. However, when we got there for dinner, we discovered just how loud it was and asked him if he could turn it down and he responded by saying that if she thought it was too loud, she should have went to a different restaurant. But that was also false because he made my friend sign a contract because of her large party so she wouldn't have lost some money. An to find another restaurant with a party of 15 people, on a Saturday night in the east village?!? That is near impossible. When they sat us down, it was very clear their ambiance and dining setup is not meant for a nice, sit-down dinner. The owner obviously has poor business etiquette and doesn't understand customer service. Also, to respond in the way he did, he is undoubtedly a person with low principles and values and probably doesn't have a real friend in his life. Clearly, you can't trust the owner and should not hold any events at his bar and I personally will never go back to...
Read more   Read moreI never write reviews but I had such a horrible experience that I just had to write this to warn other people to not come here. Their buy one get one free happy hour âdealâ is extremely misleading and their service sucks. We walked in and werenât greeted. There were not signs saying to seat ourselves so we had to ask the bartender. Sat ourselves and waited for at least 10 minutes before I was able to get a waiterâs attention. The waiter we had was genuinely mean and rude right off the bat. His name was Andy and he seemed like we were inconveniencing him for trying to place an order. We asked to move outside because it was freezing cold inside and he acted appalled, told us that we couldnât be âmoving around the restaurant a bunchâ, and proceeded to act so rude. He audibly scoffed at us and made us feel uncomfortable for even asking. There was nothing on our table but a menu when we had initially asked to move (since no one had served us for 20 minutes). It would not have been remotely difficult for him to move us but we ultimately decided to stay inside because he made it into such an awkward situation. We paid $60 for the worst dining experience Iâve had in years and there was an automatic 25% gratuity fee added during their happy hour. Overall, please do yourself a favor and NEVER come to this place. I would give this ZERO stars if that...
We had a pretty bad experience here. The waitress Claudia was incredibly rude. There was some confusion regarding their buy one get one free policy because we just asked their Hispanic bar-back if we bought a drink the second one would be free, to which he agreed. When we told Claudia that the bar-back told us weâd get the second one free if we ordered one drink and he did not inform us of the one person policy, she told us, derogatorily, that he didnât even speak English. That was incredibly racist on her part since he clearly spoke English.....
In response to the ownerâs comment. Yes, I am completely aware that Claudia was of a Hispanic heritage as she spoke with a slight accent. That does not negate the fact that she made that derogatory comment about her co-worker not speaking English as an excuse for providing us the wrong information. At one point, she was so rude that the co-worker even offered to pay for the drink himself! This is not a lesson for us to learn, you can be racist against your own ethnic group, or at least extremely condescending, which is how Claudia...
