Burgerology Midtown — Restaurant in New York

Alright so I decided to try this place out today with my girlfriend for lunch and honestly I was highly disappointed! We came in and the manager sat us down and gave us menus. Server came over and asked if we are ready to order but we still needed a few mintues to decided. Finally we were ready to order and we went with the Mac n cheese as an appetizer, we asked the waiter what would be better the short rib topping or the bacon and he said definitely the short rib. I ordered a classic burger cooked medium with bacon, onion rings as a side and my girlfriend ordered the classic cooked medium with truffle fries.

This is where the disappointment happens. To start off with there was only about 3-4 other tables there with us and they were already eating so you would think service would be pretty quick. We waited about 45 mins for our food and we ended up getting all our food together at once (the appetizer and the 2 burgers) Both the burgers were asked to be cooked medium and both came out well done The burger was very thick and stocky which wouldn't be a problem if it was cooked to our ordered temperature and if it was even seasoned a little. The most bland burger I've ever had in my life. They also put 1 thinly slice of American cheese and must of been made from plastic because that cheese would not melt if you threw it inside of a volcano. I took 3 bits and left the rest of the burger. I'm a huge fan and Mac & cheese. I literally eat it everywhere I go and this one by far was the worst Mac I've ever had. So bland it literally had no flavor to it and the short rib that the server recommended must of been cooked last week because it was rough, tasteless, and dry. We literally left 95% of it still on the plate. At one point my girlfriend took a bit of her burger and as she's chewing she pulls out a strain of hair out her mouth!! We didn't make a big deal out of it and just said to ourselves we hope it came from her and not from the kitchen but it honestly did seem like it was in the burger. At the end we ask for our bill and we're shocked to see it come out to $86. Pretty pricey giving all we had was a Mac & cheese appetizer. 2 burgers. I had a ice tea to drink and my gf had 1 corona. We told the server about the Mac and cheese not being good at all and how the short rib he recommended taste was dry and tasted like it was cooked last week and he could see that almost the whole dish was still on the plate. He said he was gonna bring it to the managers attention and I'm guessing he didn't cause nobody came over and it was still on our check.

Overall I probably won't be back to this place. You would think a place that specializes in burgers would at least get the temperature right and season the meat. Honestly you could get a way better burger at McDonald's. And they definitely need to get rid of that Mac & cheese. Im generously giving 2 stars and that's strictly because I liked the ambiance and atmosphere even tho it was way too quiet they should of had nice music...

As soon as I walked in the shift manager greeted me with a smile and enthusiasm. He guided to me the best seat he could immediately. Like always visits the bathroom right away. You can tell a lot about a place when it comes to how they treat their bathroom. Bathroom was clean and unique. It was one of those stalled bathrooms with the sinks outside. Loved it, clean and nicely decorated. Could have ate in there, not saying I would but the standards were high. Someone before me did leave one of the sinks running. I get not wanting to touch the knob after you wash your hands, but come on people. Have some respect for the planet. Water is life so treat it with respect.

I got back to my booth and ordered quickly because I was in a rush for a show. As I waited they played a great 1990’s hit playlist. I’m a 90’s baby so I was down for that. Even “men in black” came on. There was some diddy too, not sure how I feel about that but won’t hold it against them.

The burger came in time fashion but took long enough to know it was cooked with love. It looked so good I forgot to take a pic. Honestly it was amazing. The hand cut friend were Dank! Perfectly salted and crisped. I asked for some extra condiment’s because as a reviewer, I always gotta be a little bit of a pain in my butt to test their services. They got right on it!

The burger, I got the atomic one and holy wow. The manager bragged a little bit before he dropped it on my table and honestly after eating it I can say he is more confident than cocky.

I would recommend this place. The burger was made there. None of that paddy crap. Cooked to perfection.

I had an awful experience at your establishment last night. I took a group of teens to dinner. One of them who has a massive sensitivity to meat ordered a vegan burger and was given a chicken burger which she ate half of before realizing she was feeling off and checked it. I had ordered a beyond burger patty and the two were completely different plus other meat eaters at the table tried her burger confirming it was 100% meat. I complained to the the server and she said all she could do was take the burger off the bill. I asked to speak to a manager because our bill should have been discounted in some other way to compensate not just for the fact that she wasn't able to eat dinner (because the kitchen closed they didn't get her more food) but also to compensate for really a hugely problematic and unforgivable mistake. To make matters worse the manager working last night was an entitled classic white man who was rude and spoke down to me refusing to acknowledge the severity of the situation. He tried to gaslight me into thinking this wasn't a big deal and it really is. He continued to patronize me as I insisted on some kind of compensation and kept saying he took the burger off the bill. I insisted that of course we wouldn't pay for a burger that was completely not what we ordered and therefore it was inedible but that further compensation to make up for the child at the table consuming meat completely because the restaurant messed up is necessary. He refused and we paid in full. I insist on some kind of attention to this issue it was obscene behavior and I've never been so intensely disrespected at a restaurant in my life. I am from New York and when you give someone something they literally can't eat you apologize and you give them something to attempt to make up for the mistake. I had also come to your location two days earlier with 12 people and spent 300$. I'll never go here again. Do not recommend if you want to be compensated when they make literally...
