The original location next to the Credit Suisse buildings that enabled Gregorys to expand.
I was a true Gregular in the first two years of its existence, dropping by 4 to 5 times a day (worked at CS across the street). Cappuccinos were alright, never great, but baristas were really nice. They put in the effort and never minded to make a few adjustments to make it right for me.
Afterwards, once Gregorys started expanding to other locations, the hiring approach changed: now it’s just a corporate place, another Starbucks. Good baristas either do not get hired here, probably due to lower pay, or move on to better places.
So, here you go:
Extremely sour espresso( mainly due to poor skill and no standardized approach to making it). Coupled with the dark roast without any sweetness to it makes for a horrible experience. Foam is non-existent, you get a latte instead of a cappuccino. And it’s not a good one either, aka the Starbucks latte. Huge bubbles, extremely hot.
Just as at the Starbucks, order something else, but espresso...
Read moreI love getting coffee from here before class and in the mornings the staff is usually very friendly and amazing even when it’s really busy. However last evening I went around 5-5:30pm and the guy who took my order had such a nasty attitude from the jump from his looks to the way he talked. I asked if the kitchen/food was still open and he said “depends on what you want” scanned my code and then added something after and when i asked if i should can it again he said “if you want to get your points for the sandwich” but in a rude way almost with an eye roll as if I was bothering him by simply ordering. The lady who actually made my coffee was really nice but he definitely needs to work on his attitude and the only reason I still tipped was for the lady who was making the coffee. He made me want to get out of there so bad that I almost grabbed the wrong order. I’ve been a barista for almost 3 years and I’ve never been that way with a customer nor have I experienced that anywhere else especially in this location, he needs an...
Read moreGregory's Coffee Shop is consistently featured on my go-to list. The staff are always courteous and attentive to customer needs. The shop Its self is clean and decor welcoming. I particularly appreciate their menu options for those with food sensitivities; their gluten-free donut bites are quite enjoyable, and the ganache brownie offers just the right balance of chocolate flavor to rise and pistachios. I have tried to order the Sea the Glow several times; however, due to high demand, it is often sold out by the time l arrive. Nevertheless, the menu offers numerous excellent choices, and the Iced Cherry Blossom is one of my favorites--a vegan cold foam over a smooth latte topped with rose petals, which is absolutely delightful. Please note that enjoying this beverage depends on your appreciation of rose petal flavors, as each sip seems to improve. I highly recommend...
