horrible customer service. went to a high school nearby and it’s like 7 am every morning when i go here- i order my food, grab it, and leave for class. i had just woken up 30 minutes prior and i’m not rude- i am just quiet and the cashier proceeded to tell me “you should smile more. you look so rude” and i was FLABBERGASTED because imagine a man in their 40s saying that to a teenager. I calmly explained “i just woke up” (as in: im not waking up with sunshine out of my a$$) and he proceeded to say “you always come in here looking rude and not smiling.” i waited to see if he would laugh to indicate he’s just joking but he did not and proceeded to add “don’t come back here until you smile”. at that point im not trying to raise my blood pressure before going to class. so i just took my food and left. never went back since and never will. i didn’t know that i’m supposed to be entertaining the workers when i walk into a market. faults on me for simply just grabbing my food and go without making a fuss. i’ve shared my story with my friends and they always say they had creepy/ awkward encounters with this worker as well. however, my guy friends says he was always nice to them- hmm, wonder what that is about. shame because the food is good- but not good enough where i subject myself to uncomfortability. save yourself and go try brooklyns bagel on...
Read moreChelsea Fine Foods has thirty six flavors of Jeni’s Splendid ice cream in a freezer. Not five or eight as in other supermarkets that stock this superb ice cream brand. 36.! This freezer was sent by the brand. Yesterday I had gone to Chelsea Fine Foods to see if Jeni’s Pistachio Macaron Ice Cream pint was in stock. When I saw all the pints in a freezer, I almost fainted with joy! I wanted to wrap my arms around the freezer and give it many kisses. Then I met the buyer Wadha. We discussed the flavors and I told him that I had met Jeni Britten at Dean & Deluca when she had brought a truck one summer offering free scoops aeons ago. I was buying her pints at the store for $6.50 which was considered pricey. It was love with the first spoonful. I have continued enjoying Wildberry Lavender, Darkest Chocolate, Strawberry Buttermilk and Salty Caramel. One can have it shipped but four have to be ordered which, with shipping and handling, makes it too expensive. Here a pint or two is far easier to pick up and is affordable. Today I bought Brown Butter Almond Brittle and ate half a pint. Luscious and oozing with flavor. What will I...
Read more“PRICES WILL CHANGE FROM PERSON TO PERSON!” The food is old, the service is terrible. The pre made sandwiches are wet and soggy… the salad is usually limp and old along with sides that sit out for weeks. The people who cook are obnoxious and arrogant and if they get your order wrong it’s your fault. The prices can and will change from person to person. They sell alcohol to minors and they allow drunks to drink in the back on regular occasions. Expect competing music between the store and the cooks and don’t pay attention to how filthy the ceiling is or the cutting board/ kitchen...
