Chun Yang Tea offers New York an authentic tea tasting experience, without the use of artificial ingredients. They use traditional Taiwanese tea leaves (strictly chosen) for all of their teas. I was able to get to the location somewhat early in the evening recently with a friend. We had both never tried any tea or drinks from this particular establishment...just knew that it was there and heard our friends talking about it. The store is in a newly renovated area in Flushing on the street level. When you walk by you can see right in the sitting area. The layout I would have to say is much different from most other tea spots I have visited in and around the area and is quite unique. When you walk in there is a very very spacious standing area before you get to the registers. Along the wall there there is a spot to take maybe a group photo or selfie in front of a white with gold lettering Chun Yang sign. The ordering station and work area for employees has a very elegant wooden design that almost makes you think you are in a restaurant. The wood work gives off a certain ambience that sets the stage for when you are about to order. After you order you walk to the pick up station and sitting are which is to the right and offers a good amount of seating. You have a bar top along the windows that can seat quite a few people as well as tables in the center. This is all adjacent to the ordering and pick up area. It allowed my friend and I to take some different photos either on the table top or along the window area, The service was some of the best and that is just as important as the product itself. My friend and I walked in and were greeted by three employees, one young lady and two gentleman. Later on I found out that one of the gentleman was the manager, Vanness. He was very good at making recommendations for us. Each tea they made looked great for photos and they made each tea in a very timely manner (not that we were in any particular rush). He was also very accommodating in letting us use part of the sitting area to take some photos of the drinks.
Red Bean with Fresh Milk - this was a surprise hit for us. I was thinking initially that the combo seemed strange on the menu HOWEVER upon tasting it we both were sold. My friend ended up finishing this particular one on her own. Later on I found out this is one of their top sellers. Grass Jelly with Black Tea and Milk - the grass jelly looked so fresh and the black tea mixed with milk was all quite tasty. Another popular flavor. Oolong Tea with Osmanthus Honey - Now this flavor had a wow factor. The Oolong is cold brewed every three hours. The tea taste was very apparent and the honey added some very good flavor. This is the perfect refreshing spring and summer drink for outdoors but we happily sipped it inside. We were both very impressed. Pineapple Oolong tea - this is one of the newer flavors that I had seen advertised and it piqued my interest as I am a pineapple fan. The flavor is quite strong and it was very good in my opinion (as long as you like pineapple flavor of course). They used real pineapple chunks as well! Pudding Milk tea - this was an afterthought as it was recommended by someone who likes bubble tea as much as I do. Its a nice variation of the classic milk tea and the Taiwanese pudding is so tasty. My friend liked this one as well. I was very pleased with my initial visit to the Flushing location of Chun Yang. My friend and I had our personal favorites but each tea we ordered was very good and the customer service was excellent. All the popular tea places have origins in Taiwan and I am glad that they were able to open up a location in NY to share...
Read moreChun Yang has always been my favorite tea spots in NYC. Everything is always fresh and natural. I love this tea shop and its modern twist. The first drink we got was their Oolong tea with osmanthus honey and aiyu jelly. It was really good on its own without sugar. You can really taste the fresh brewed tea flavor, I am such a fan. I let my grandma try some and she was mind blown. The passion fruit green tea was my favorite. If you like sweet/sour drinks, this is for you. The seeds add a little crunch and texture to the drink, it was so fun. The black tea latte with pearls was really good too. Their pearls were so fresh and had the perfect consistency of chewiness. The pineapple oolong tea was great too, it had fresh pineapple chunks in it!! I mean I literally never heard of any other tea shop in NYC that adds REALL fresh fruit chunks in their drinks. My boyfriend tried the oolong tea latter with pudding, it was so photogenic. The pudding sitting on the bottom looked too perfect, it was unreal. Overall, the drinks were delicious. You can taste the freshness in each ingredient with every sip. The workers were also super nice and helpful. They gave us great recommendations and were happy to be there. Super friendly service. I'm craving some passion fruit green tea as I write this review, cannot...

I got the Black tea latte with pearl (M) 30% sweetness with light ice which was perfect for me. I don't drink milk tea on a regular basis, but I like my milk tea for the tea taste. I totally forgot to ask for no boba, but the boba pearls were on the mochi chewiness so for some it might be overcooked.
There are seats inside (3 small 2 person tables and 5 chairs next to each other facing the window); however, it is a small place so keep that in mind. Nice Chinese music playing in the background. (Not too loud :)) There are street parking, but when in new york, use the subway/bus :) Less of a hassle.
Taste 9/10 (-1 cause of the boba lol) Visual 10/10 Service 9.5/10 Texture 8.5/10 (boba)
I would recommend this place, but next time I order, I will order with out pearls haha and maybe try a...
