I brought my family here for brunch to celebrate my birthday when they were visiting town in October. My party of 5 walked in around 2:30 p.m. on a Saturday without a reservation and we were able to sit immediately. Once we sat down, the server informed us that a couple of offerings on their brunch menu were not available. We placed drink orders that took ~15 minutes to come, and when they did arrive, my cocktail from their drinks list and my dad's seltzer were missing. When I followed up to inquire about the whereabouts of my cocktail, I was informed that they were out of it—the entire cocktail, not just one ingredient. I ordered another drink and then my family and I placed orders for our main courses. About 15-20 minutes after placing the orders, the server returned to the table to inform us that some of our selections were unavailable, in addition to the selections she mentioned when we first sat down. At this point, 25% of the menu was unavailable. My brothers made some new selections from the All Day menu, only to be told later that they could not order from the All Day menu.
After 30 minutes of waiting for our food, we were hungry and confused, especially since there were only 2 other parties in the restaurant. The manager came over to tell us that our order was only entered into their system 13 minutes ago, which was obviously infuriating. When some of the food did start to trickle out, it was one dish at a time, rather than waiting to bring everything at once so my family could actually eat together. On top of that, the server brought over a burger that no one ordered instead of bringing out any of the correct dishes that we'd waited 45 minutes for at this point.
The chef eventually came out and apologized for our experience, explaining that the restaurant was overhauling its menu. They comped our food and gave us coupons to came back.
When I came back with 2 friends about 2 weeks later, we wanted to drink pumpkin beer and take advantage of Clinton Hall's Oktoberfest. As should've been expected, they were out of pumpkin beer, as well as about 5 other beers on their beer menu of about 20-25 beers. The restaurant was a lot busier because a UFC match was on and there was only 1 server working from what I could see. Against my better judgement, I gave Clinton Hall a chance to redeem itself, but it just...
Read moreI live in the neighborhood and walk by Clinton Hall often. I decided to take my parents who were visiting here for a quick lunch before we headed to a broadway show. When we got there, the place was empty besides a party of about 24 in the back that had people periodically trickling in. We arrived around 1:20 PM and ordered shortly after. The drinks were cold and great and it was off to a great start! However, as time went on, it was close to 2:15 PM when we finally got our food. I ordered the Avocado Toast Benedict which is marketed to have poached eggs and a hollandaise sauce. When the plate arrived, it was cold and the eggs were fried, not poached and there was no hollandaise. I sent back the dish and said I did not have time to wait for another dish and ended up picking off of my parents' plates. I never had a meal of my own nor was I offered anything. Our waiter was very nice but not once did a manager come over to speak with us nor apologize. Also, the bartender lurked around our table and did not say one word to us but had no issue listening to us talk amongst ourselves regarding the issue. We were not offered anything and paid close to $100 for an incomplete and inconsiderate meal. Our waiter was sweet and handed us a $10 off card, if we decide to come back but like why would we???? If they cannot handle having their restaurant open while also hosting an event, that is not my problem. It was ridiculous to be served the dish that I was given and it was insulting to think that they tried to pass that off as their dish on the menu. It is an absolute shame because the drinks are good and the place is cute but their customer service...
Read moreDisabled people and service dog handler's beware! Do not eat here. Upon entry, I was stopped by whom I believe was the manager and asked what my disability was and what my service dog does for it. I was then told only service dogs for physical disabilities is allowed. Not only is asking for my disability illegal, so is discriminating based on what type of service dog it is. I showed him the law on the ADA government website, but was disregarded and told it wasn't the NY law. I proceeded to show him the laws for NY, but he continued to disregard me. He told me that only service dogs for physical disabilities are allowed and that this is a corporate policy. I told him that was illegal and attempted to show him the laws again, but he ignored me and said "Reading won't help anything". The only solution he offered was allowing us to sit outside, which I refused because it is December and cold outside, but also since isolating me from other patrons due to my service dog is a violation of the ADA. He refused to hear this either. He was rude, unprofessional, and discriminatory throughout the whole interaction (although he told me to my face that he wasn't discriminating). He told me to file a complaint, and I have. We were eventually allowed to sit, after a friend explained that we were here for a birthday, but I believe he was tired of arguing with me. I will not be returning to this discriminatory business and encourage anyone with a disability to...
