Well for all the rave about happy hour-I was disappointed. No one in these reviews mentioned their oyster limit policy. You heard me, when you walk in and get the menu it says max 12 oysters for 1-2 ppl. That means if you go with a friend, you only get 6 oysters each. Very disappointing, especially because they have a huge selection, most people would want at least a dozen if not more. I understand a limit but that is pretty ridiculous. on top of that every round of oysters that you get they give you an annoying piece of cardboard that says that you need to take a photo of the oysters and #oystergram them. Like really you want people to take photos of your happy hour and post them places when you only offer 6 to 12 oysters per person and people can only get up to 12 if they’re alone? Oh and groups 3-7 can only have a max of 24 oysters. Thats right, so if u go with more than 4 ppl you get less than 6 each on happy hr😂On top of that I saw a lot of positive reviews for the shrimp squid pasta. The flavor was really good but instead of giving you just a few large flavorful shrimp they added a bunch of small cheap gummy shrimp. For a restaurant that’s so expensive it’s just wasn’t what I was expecting. Also there’s only one wine on the happy hour menu. All around disappointed. It’s not the worst place like I said they have a good oyster selection, I just feel like it’s false advertising to act like this place is an...
Read moreIf an establishment is this triggered by an honest review, there’s obviously something else going on. There are plenty of other happy hour oysters out there that are actually happy hour prices and better quality than Crave Fishbar. Just do better with your food and this wouldn’t be an issue! Writing this review is such a waste of my time and energy but it has to be done. For future diners looking for a place, there are WAYYY BETTER places like off the hook, mermaid inn, and etc that have actually fresh oysters that are stored correctly.
Don’t go to Crave, they’ll just end up bamboozling you with a “happy hour menu” that includes $3 oysters from the west coast (if that’s not included in the happy hour why is it on the happy hour menu)
There are also several complaints about the quality of oysters from Crave, from people getting sick to puking. I also read another review that showcased your rat and pest issue where you had rats running amuck in the restaurant while customers are dining. I wouldn’t trust any establishment that can’t maintain a clean space. This is just a courtesy warning for all future patrons, do your research. Choose what you want to take from this review but this is just my fully honest personal experience. I’d be happy to show...
Read moreThe service was great. The food is outstanding. It's a good value. The management is friendly and solid. What more can you say. We came here last night and I got the fluke dish and my wife got the barramundi. The fluke was on a thick slice of sourdough bread kind of like an open-faced fluke sandwich! I not sure I would ever had tried it had I known how it was going to be that but it was super yummy! The flavors were fantastic and the fluke was cooked just right. It's a little too messy to eat with my hands but otherwise I would have tried. My wife had the barramundi and that was a solid dish! now we're here again for a second night and I had the squid ink pasta which was outstanding! My wife had the salmon which was also very good! with all the great restaurants in New York we may come back here again tomorrow night but if we don't we'll definitely be back here the next time we visit New York! I had been to the location up on the upoer west side the last time I was in New York but this is our first time at this location. I would highly recommend this place. oh and I didn't even mention the oysters they are also outstanding and if you come during happy hour they are super good value....
