As a reviewer, Iâm always on the lookout for those charming little spots that feel like a secret hideaway, and Eat Pretty on 83rd Street is exactly that. Iâm telling everybodyâ83rd Street is hiding a big secret with this cute little cafe. If youâre looking to get away for a bit, enjoy a cup of coffee, and have a delicious breakfast, this is the place for you.
I decided to try the Avocado Toast with Poached Eggs from the breakfast menu, and it was a delightful choice. The avocado was perfectly ripe, spread generously on a slice of crispy, hearty bread, and topped with two beautifully poached eggs. The eggs were cooked just right, with the yolks oozing over the avocado, adding a rich creaminess to every bite. The seasoning was simple but effective, letting the fresh ingredients shine through. Itâs a breakfast that feels both indulgent and healthy, making it the perfect way to start your day.
The atmosphere at Eat Pretty is cozy and inviting, with a relaxed vibe that makes you want to linger. The decor is charming and adds to the overall warmth of the place. Whether youâre here for a quick coffee or a leisurely breakfast, youâll feel right at home.
If I had to mention a minimal complaint, it would be that the seating is a bit limited, so you might have to wait during peak hours. But honestly, the quality of the food and the ambiance more than make up for it.
Overall, Eat Pretty is a wonderful little spot that deserves more attention. Itâs a hidden gem on 83rd Street, perfect for anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful meal or just escape with a great...
Read moreThe lady worked there on the new location (right side) on March 14, 2025 around 2:56pm, is the rudest person Iâve ever seen. I went to the old location (on the left) wanting to buy a bottle of sparkling water(Iâve purchased sparkling water here before). The gentlemen (very nice) asked me to go to next door (their new location sells cookies boba tea etc). When I got there, thereâs only one person behind the counter. The lady was on the phone but was looking at me, so I told her âsparkling waterâ. She said they donât sell here, ânext doorâ she said. I said itâs ânext door asked me to come here and you guys need to talk to each other.â She then said âthatâs their problem, not my problem.â I almost got out of the door but thought her answer is a bit absurd... I mean do you think it should be your customer's job to go back to them and tell them about your miscommunication? So I turned around and replied âthatâs not my problem eitherâ. Without me finishing the sentence, the lady pointed to my face and shouted âGET OUT!!!â "YOU NEED TO GET OUT!!!" I said to her she's the rudest person I've ever seen and left. She was STILL on her phone... What a ridiculous and hostile experience. I live in the neighborhood and shopped here several times before. This will definitely be the last time. A customer-facing role requires basic manners and politeness. Sheâs clearly not qualified in any aspect. This lady needs to be...
Read moreI really wanted to love this place. Local, family owned coffee shop that serves delicious food & snacks, and the coffee is rich and beautiful (such a nice reminder for those of us that in our regular haste to find morning caffeine have been lulled into thinking the stuff you can get at chains is normal and forgotten what âgood coffeeâ can be). Where this place really lost me is attitude. As mentioned, it is a family that runs it and (who I assume to be) the parents have been very warm and friendly. They prefer cash as a small business (I completely get it) but they are NOT cash only. One of the last visits, (who I assume to be) the daughter, decided to be rude when I paid with a card. It was a sizable order, not a couple of bucks, which I almost would have understood her annoyance if that were the case. But as I went to pay she abrasively asked me if I had cash to cover it, and when I said no, proceeded to do the whole eye roll/hair flip/abrupt movements/avoid eye contact ... ugh. I was over it. I went back one other time after that and saw they instituted a $10 card minimum which I think is a smart move rather than shaming guests who are trying to give them money but ... ultimately decided I would go elsewhere from...
