I went here for the first time with my husband for my birthday because he's never had Brazilian food. Lets just say for my birthday dinner I didn't have a good experience at this place at all. I used to live in Bridgeport, CT were they had many Brazilian restaurants & many not as fancy as this one but I must say their attentiveness to their customers was impeccable. When we were seated it looked like we were sat at a table that was just thrown there we had no light above us & I had to use the light on my phone to look at the menu & people kept bumping into my chair & stepping on my coat & hitting my purse, mind you we were there for 2hrs & this is what i had to deal with the entire time. Our waitress explained the churrasco experience & she was talking so fast we couldn't understand what she was saying plus as she was talking to us their was no eye contact she just kept looking at other tables. Then she leaves & comes back not a few minutes later but 10min later to take our order. We decided on the churrasco experience & boy was it an experience from then on & not in a good way. We ordered our drinks the Brazilian lemonade and a coke. We get up to go to the Marketplace buffet some items had place cards stating what each item is some with no place card so it's a guessing game & it looked a little messy. We get back to our table proceed to eat & now it's been 15min & we haven't received our drinks yet. A bartender was going around in a cart making Caipirinha's infront of you i thought that was a nice touch a bartender going around in a portable bar. He made our drinks & he was really nice FYI it states in their menu that certain drinks are happy hour drinks $10 all day everyday & that's false. The 2 drinks my husband & I ordered were the Happy Hour drinks & we were charged $15ea. Now 30min have passed & we still have not received our other drinks we first ordered from our waitress. We see her catering to the big party tables more & frequenting those tables more. I understand big party tables bigger tips. But your customer service should be the same for everyone there no matter if it's 18, 6 or 2ppl. My husband & I are never stingy when it comes to tipping we always give 20% or more especially when the service is amazing. A lady in a blazer & skirt i think she's one of the managers asks us how is everything & my husband explains we have waited more than 30min for our drinks. She says she will take care of that & she leaves. My husband says, finally. Finally she left & 10min later still no drinks. There was this one guy tall & bald who was going around with the skewers of meats & noticed we were a little upset & asked if he could help. We explained that it's now been over 45min & we haven't received our drinks well less than 10min he came back with our drinks. "The Churrasco Experience"( it's in quotes because boy was it ever an experience) it comes with mashed potatoes, cheese bread, fried polenta & caramelized bananas. We finished ours & wanted more mashed potatoes & caramelized bananas and we couldn't get it because our waitress was more attentive to the bigger party tables. Now for the meats on the skewers that the servers are walking around with. On the menu it shows 12 different types of meats. We only saw the same 6 types. No filet mignon, no ribeye, no pork belly (which is what my husband was looking forward to) no beef ribs ( which is what I was looking forward to) no bottom sirloin and no Frango. Every time the servers with the meats came to our table we asked for medium on the beef. I can honestly say every cut we received was almost well done & was hard to cut & tasted dry. When my husband got the top sirloin & asked for medium it was so bloody. Also the temperature at the restaurant wasn't comfortable it was a little cold, my husband kept his wool hat on & as I looked around some people also had their hats on & coats. Also because it was a little cold, the food got cold quick and wasn't edible. Finally after 2hrs our waitress showed up & we asked for our bill. Never...
Read moreCame here alone before a movie and was hoping to use my birthday reward. Started off okay, my server didn't come to my table so the staff around like the manager came by and took my order. Since is a Sunday there is a lot more meat going arpund and quite busy. I was seated right at the front. Issues started about 30 minutes in. A group was seated next to me and one of the server in a blue shirt realized they spoke Spanish so he was chatting with them, the server who I found out later was name Hecotr, made sure that table was taken care of. They got mutiple refills fresh plates , he checked in with them a couple of times which was fine but I can't even get a refill of my water till I have to ask one for the manager passing by. Is fine I get it is busy but still was annoying. When it came time to pay the server Hector who has not served me at all the whole time came by and offer to refill my water , and I was like oh he can see me so I said thank you and he just brought me the check, which I did not ask for ( i sat down at 2pm and it was only 3pm) . Is fine I had a movie to catch so I told him I wanted to use my birthday discount,he asked me to write down my number so he can check the account so I turned around to the counter next to me ( I was seated by one of their computer so I figure they would have a pen ) but he just stopped me and said don't rush, whats the hurry as he slowly tell me he has a pen(like if you have a pen why didn't you just give it to me when you ask me to write down the number ) after 10 ish minutes he came back and told me for the discount I need to have 2 people which I did nto see in the fine print , when I show him my email he just dismissed me like I was stupid and told me is for 2 people and left. I again ahd to ask someone else if I missed read it. The person who I think was one of the hostess(white shirt with an card on her wrist, I did not get her name) was very nice and asked Hector what happen and he again dismissed her and said the same thing is for 2 people only no discount , the lady actually read my email and went to double check , it turns out I was right I am entitled to the discount however I didn't realized today was a holiday and was excluded so at the end no discount , which is fine since it was my fault for not double checking the holidays, the lady was ultra nice and apologize for the confusion. Hector was not where to be found and left me in a bad mood. I hope the management team will address this with Hector(that is there name of the cashier listed on my receipt, he is a older gentleman bald and wearing blue shirt) , he was rude and very clearly only want to cater or bring you water if you speak Spanish or are in a group.
I been to this fogo de chao about 3 to 4 times now, last time we had a group of 10 on a Tuesday and the service was great. Same as that one time I was here for a special event by myself and the service was still amazing. But after this , if I am to go back to fogo de chao I would go back to the Manhattan location. I don't like to be talked down to , ignored and treated this way by a server and still have to tip them when they ignored me the whole time.
Also since it was busy the market table were out of items often so it was hard to enjoy a meal when i have to keep asking for a item or wait for it to...
Read moreI do not recommend their brunch.
Pros: The hostess and our server was very nice.
Cons: It took over 30 minutes for me to get my drink. Other people at my table got their first round of drinks before mine (even though I ordered first). When I did get my drink, it was wrong. They wanted more drinks, but ended up having to go to the bar and purchased them separately in order to get them.
The Market Table - the menu claims it has braised rib beef hash, brazilian sausage, and more. In actuality those meat options were not available. There was hash, but it was mixed with beans and the only other meat option was bacon (I guess that was the "and more").
The omelets are small, which isn't a big deal, but they are VERY stingy with the cheese. We sent an omelet back because my bro didn't taste any, but then the server showed us that the cheese was in one corner of the omelet. I asked for bacon in one of my omelets and it only had one slice of bacon in it, broken into 3 pieces. It looked sad. And since space is limited, you can't stand there and direct the cook on how you would like your omelet. They make you sit at your seat and wait for it. We didn't get all of our omelets. The manager had to have the birthday girl's omelets specially made in the kitchen because the omelet she waited 30 minutes for never came and brunch was over so they wouldn't make it at the omelet station.
The waffles are silver dollar sized. They only give you 2-3 at a time. They pour the syrup on the waffles for you. There is no syrup on the table. Our server was nice enough to leave some at the table after I asked about it, but that's not standard. And the waffle really absorbs the syrup, so if you try to eat other things then take a bite of the mini waffle, you're going to choke because the syrup is gone. This was the first restaurant I've ever been to that didn't give you syrup to keep at your table. We also didn't get all of our waffle orders.
They have one person who cooks the waffles and omelets. And...THAT SAME PERSON IS RESPONSIBLE FOR BRINGING YOUR WAFFLES AND OMELETS TO YOUR TABLE. This is insane to me. Brunch ends at 2 p.m. We go to the station at 1:50 p.m. to place our last orders and NO ONE IS THERE. She's literally running around giving people the food she just cooked. The lady comes back after 2:07 and then they want to say brunch is over. When I made a complaint to the manager about this (and the other issues), his response was that they didn't have enough money to hire someone else to serve the food. The spot wasn't even crowded. If they can't handle a half empty restaurant, what were they going to do if everyone and their mama decided to show?
Fogo is a good place to go if you want to eat a lot of meat. If you looking for an enjoyable brunch spot, this isn't it. They need to reorganize. I've been to Fogo in the city numerous times. I'm not returning to the...
