Great contemporary store from the UK with plenty of options for everyone in the family and a wide range of sizes. Prices are affordable and styles are on-trend. They also sell home decor, (low-quality) shoes, trendy purses, themed stationery, travel gear like suitcases, and licensed products from Disney, Harry Potter, etc.
5 stars for staff, stock, display, organization, security, and ease.
3 stars for quality, which ranges from gimmicky, "ruined in the 1st wash" to durable, and looks like a dupe of a nicer product from Zara or Victoria's Secret, etc. It's still worth searching for the good stuff!
The clothing and items are affordable and sometimes look like (cheap) fast-fashion that's priced accordingly. BUT THAT'S OK because they often come in sturdy cotton blend fabric that's increasingly hard to find at similar stores, such as Forever 21, H&M, Old Navy, Rainbow, Baby Blue, Zara, etc.
The men's section always has basic staples in primary and trending colors (black, white, beige, gray, and as of today, 4/16/23 they have blue and pink pastels, etc). Think crew neck shirts, soft long sweatpants and sweatpants shorts, hoodies, etc. They currently have Bermuda shorts for men in classic colors (black, navy, gray, white with tan pinstripes, and a cool shade of "rust").
The women's section has an endless plethora of clothes, pjs, accessories, and now business casual. I love the current Rita Ora collection, as well as their summer beach/resort section.
Kid's section is adorable!! They have child versions of some adult clothing if you want to match. Highly recommend. It's on par with the Children's Place, H&M Kids, Old Navy, Burlington, and occasionally Zara.
NOTE: ** My mom found the women's garments and purses skew towards young adult - 30s styles. That said, she admitted the pjs are great for everyone as well as some accessories (sunglasses, the reusable bags, baseball caps, etc). So perhaps mature women might need to peruse a bit longer unless they like to "keep up with the young people" lol.
** The men's crew neck neckline shirts * DO NOT HOLD UP * in the wash!!! Almost every t-shirt we purchased lost it's structure after the first wash 😔. Such a shame too because the colors are nice and don't bleed, and they are generally flattering. For the price, I guess we shouldn't be surprised (ranging $3 - 19) but it is disappointing. Now we have a bunch of stretched out wobbly-necked tees to wear to bed/for chores around the house. Perhaps someone might have better luck if they hand wash them?
** Garments are structured with UK body shapes in mind... men's shirt sizes have narrower sleeves and a wider midsection than their US counterparts. Great for guys with a beer belly but not so much for those with big arms.
** Women's clothes also come in sizes wider across the shoulders/chest and tummy area than US counterparts. The same is true for their pants (I haven't tried their jeans) where the waist is wider while the legs are narrower than US versions.
It's a painpoint for me as someone with a pear/hourglass shape who needs the reverse! US sizes usually accommodate bigger thighs, these seem designed for apple-shaped figures.
SIDE NOTE: The buttons on things sometimes look tacky BUT you can always buy a set and switch them out yourself or at the dry cleaner's/seamstress.
The prices are so affordable that you can afford to tailor the clothes to your needs and still not break the bank. For ex: buy a size up for your thighs and have the waist taken in; buy a blouse and have the torso area tightened; swap buttons with higher...
Read moreOn March 7, 2025, at around 7 PM, I had an unpleasant experience with a sales associate in the boys’ section at Primark. My sister was about to try on a pair of jeans over her leggings when an older Black female associate informed us that there was a fitting room available. I hadn’t been aware of this, so I translated her message to my sister. However, I then heard the associate mumbling something under her breath. When I asked her to clarify, she responded with a condescending tone, rolling her eyes and saying, “Thank you” in a way that was clearly sarcastic.
I calmly told her that there was no need to be rude, but she continued repeating “thank you” in the same dismissive manner, emphasizing how the fitting rooms were available. I acknowledged that I understood her, but I pointed out that my sister never attempted to try on the jeans after she first informed us.
At first, I wasn’t going to leave a negative review, as I usually don’t dwell on these things, but the associate continued to make my shopping experience uncomfortable. She kept looking at us, smiling mockingly, and laughing as if to belittle us. This unprofessional behavior created an unpleasant atmosphere and ruined what should have been a simple shopping trip.
While the store itself was well-stocked and organized, the behavior of certain staff members was unacceptable. No customer should feel uncomfortable or disrespected while shopping. I hope Primark takes action to ensure that all employees treat customers with basic respect and...
