Ordered online and pick up for long road trip, so many items were eaten much later from when it was picked up and it was still amazing! It was so good I forgot to take pictures of other items after the first bite.
Pastrami egg and cheese: Favorite item! Pastrami was definitely homemade, perfectly seasoned and tender like meat butter. Last year I got the same item and pastrami was sliced; I appreciate switching to chunks as you get more pastrami in every bite. The egg was definitely cooked by a chef. Eggs were fluffy like the Japanese rolled egg omelot.
Frankel's #1 bagel on pumpernickel everything bagel: love the pumpernickel everything bagel by itself with scallion cream cheese, but was too much for this bagel. Next time I would go with regular everything. The cucumber salad added a refreshing crunch and delicate sweetness that complimented the salmon very well.
Heirloom tomato bagel on regular everything bagel: Ate this 5 hours after pick up and it was shockingly still good and not soggy (I can't imagine how good this would be fresh). Tomatoes were naturally sweet with good crunch, like you get from a fresh from garden tomato. The fact that the tomato held up for 5 hrs really attest to how fresh it was originally. The herbs and vinegrette added a nice acidity to balance the fat from cream cheese. Perfect summer bagel.
Dozen assorted bagels: We had two bagels extra in our order, that we didn't order, so thanks for the freebies! :) We ate two in car immediately and rest sat in cooler overnight then in fridge for another day. We toasted them up for sandwiches and it still tasted perfect. Nice crunchy exterior with seasoning on every surface, top and bottom. Interior had nice bounce, not too firm or soft just right amount of chew, which seem to only occur with new york bagels.
We will be back every time...
Read moreWaited longer than I should’ve. Ok. Not a big deal right?
Well, A bunch of people that ordered after me got their food first (including someone that ordered the same item as me, and multiple people who ordered the same meat prep) and I had to ask for my food two more times after ordering. Negative experience overall, workers were rude and unenthusiastic to me specifically. I am Indian American, I had Walked in with a bunch of my boys who are white, they got their food, and I didn’t. Like 30 other ppl (all happened to be white) that walked in after me got served first too and again, my same order went out before me. And no, not online orders, I’m talking about in store orders that came in after me. It definitely felt like a race thing.
I left the above review a while back and had also sent an email^ got no response. Called the manager today to see why I didn’t and he basically said I was being ridiculous and kept trying to cut me off while I was trying to reason with him and explain the situation. I also heard him pull away from the phone and make some comments to coworkers and laugh.
If you’re a decent human being, pls don’t eat here. This was a humiliating experience. I felt very discriminated. Before you say they seem very nice, just know that manners and appearance don’t tell the whole story about a...
Read moreI had a desire for a true NYC bagel Lox deluxe style sandwich for lunch. I have never been to Frankel’s but I have heard good things. Now I am a 4th generation NYC kid. I know a a good bagel and definitely know a good NYC Lox Bagel sandwich. So I order one if there signature sandwiches, an Everything Bagel with Scallion Cream Cheese with Pastrami smoked salmon, red onion, capers and dill pickles. This sounds up my ally. I add a cup of coffee and I pay $17.something plus the obligatory $2. Tip and it’s a $20 bagel and Lox with a cup of Joe. I am ok with that if it top notch. Unfortunately it fell short. The bagel was pale, no GOOD New York bagel shine. The outer crust was dry and cracking, the sandwich boasted more condiments than it did Lox or Cream Cheese. Over all the flavor wasn’t bad and I would have given it 3.5 or 4 stars if it was a $6-$8 sandwich. But there are dozen’s of bagel stores in the 5 boro’s that blow this Hipster, wannabe spot out of the water. You want the best bagel and Salmon sandwich in the 5 Boro’s head to Utopia Bagel In Whitestone Queens. Lox is made in house and piled...
