Ambiance (3/5): The line was out the door with about 4 parties ahead of us on a Sunday brunch around 12:30pm. There was no staff outside to determine the estimated wait times or take our names. We probably only waited about 30 min before getting seated. Big fan that their menu has pictures of their dishes! The establishment is very small so now I understand the wait. It’s dark inside and not terribly loud. Service (3/5): It was difficult to understand the waiter. I was disappointed that our appetizers came out at the same time as our main entrees. Staff continued to check on us regularly but weren’t super friendly. It sort of felt like we were being rushed despite not having a line when we were on the way out. Food (3/5): Veggie Potsticker (5/5) – the Sriracha aioli was drizzled on top with the ginger soy sauce on the side. The exterior had a wonderful crunch that complemented well with the savoryness of the aioli and then sweetness from the ginger sauce. Nova Benny (1/5) – Sadly, the benedict did not meet my expectations. Perhaps it was the potato latke that was a drier and thicker vessel for my eggs and salmon than I’m used to. It was too heavy to enjoy that I ended up eating the toppings and left half the latke. Also, was disappointed that the smoked salmon did not taste very fresh. The eggs were done to perfection but I didn’t feel like there was enough hollandaise to elevate the dish or rather assist with lathering the latke down the latch. Pastrami Sandwich Rueben (5/5) – Although I only had a bite of pastrami, it was FIRE. The ratio of meat was wonderful and seasoned very well! The Rueben upgrade was the superior choice in elevating the taste from the sauerkraut and swiss. Overall (3/5): I’ve always had Friedman’s on my list to try but was not blown away with the experience. I almost felt like this would be a better place to order take-out rather than wait for the brunch for a dine-in because it doesn’t bring any additional value...
Read moreWe were super dissapointed with this location. We have visited other locations and loved it so assumed this would be the same. Our server was friendly but was trying to balance outside and inside seating so we seemed to be forgotten about throughout our meal and ended up needing to ask for things repeatedly due to this. We ordered spinach artichoke dip as soon as we sat down but it came out after our meal. It was cold in the center and barely warm on top. I asked her to be sure it was supposed to be warm and she said yes so she took it back to heat it up some more. When the other waiter brought it out he kind tossed it at our table sending some of the chips flying. It was hot then but complete water on the bottom because it seemed to be microwaved to heat it. I did not get any refills on my tea and when I asked it to be removed because I ended up drinking a half a glass of tea and then proceeded to drink water because there wasn't anyone consistently waiting on us, the guy argued with me saying the refills are free. When I said but I didn't even get any refills because of the service he just repeated himself. I'm a really patient patron and am understanding of staffing issues but this review is for management so that they atr aware we had a very poor experience and to possibly look at making changes to help your staff...
