This review is primarily about the service.
Arrived with a group of 4 on a Sunday morning around 11am. Two of the four of us were going to order a drink before going back out to check out NYC (we were visiting). We’d seen good things about Gregory’s, so we decided to try it out since it was right by a different shop we were getting breakfast from.
Service: terrible. Person at the register didn’t greet us, we initiated the conversation, and began ordering. Simple order, two drinks. State the first one, person seemed like they didn’t want to be there, begin ordering the second drink and person completely ignores us and walks away to their right to assist their coworker with something. They didn’t even tell us to hold on or anything, just a complete walk away as we’re mid sentence. We were shocked at the lack of customer service. They came back after a minute, at which point they input the FIRST drink, then ask for the rest of our order. At this point we’re disappointed and over it, so we give the second drink order and brush it off. No have a nice day, no thank you for ordering, nothing. Idk if this is just NYC but other places in the city we tried were friendlier.
Customer service is tough, I get it, been there, done that myself for years. At least fake it or something. Don’t expect excellent customer service if you come here, and the coffee...
Read moreCoffee was good but the service was terrible. I was visiting from out of town and stopped by for a coffee and scone. The initial server was great, smiled and was friendly. She bagged my scone and passed it on to the cashier. As I neared the cashier to order my coffee and pay, I took my bag only to have it taken back by the male cashier with the comment “ that’s not yours” spoken rudely. He wouldn’t even look up at me. No eye contact, just that rude comment. Another cashier next him grabbed the bag and moved it aside. So odd. Like I was a child. I explained that the previous staff member had bagged my scone and that that was it. Neither of these 2 would look at me. I wasn’t being rude at all. I was too shocked to be honest. Another scone was given to me and I payed. The really annoying part was neither of these cashiers would even look at me. They didn’t look at anyone. What’s with the no eye contact? Other customers they were serving were given no eye contact either. So strange. As I was leaving I could see my original scone just sitting on the counter waiting for it’s customer. I left smirking a bit. Sorry. But you guys were very rude so unnecessarily. You come across a little to high in your britches. You serve coffee... get...
Read moreThis was texted to Gregory’s customer service: There is an employee that works the afternoon/evenings, a woman with glasses. I stop by and buy the same order every Tuesday at 6:30, a pastry and an iced coffee. And last week she had asked if I wanted the buy one, get 50% off, mentioned it was okay, that I just wanted the one and if I got two one would go to waste. Asked if I was sure, said yes. Yesterday, it was very visible she was having a bad day or whatever, but she was from the start rude and dismissive, interrupting me while ordering. That went ignored, but when she gave me my order, i saw two of them, and when I asked for attention, without looking at me she interrupted me again jus blurting out that it is a buy one get one free (incorrect), I told her I didnt want the second one and got extremely frustrated and confrontational at having to do a transaction. I repeated I didn't want it and that just last week she at least had asked me about it and just replied she didnt rememeber (ofc not), and proceeded to reimburse two dollars- so NOT buy one get one free. It’s NY and midtown, so the miserable vibes are understandable, but a line should be drawn at unnecessary confrontation with your own customers and misleading them to...
