Velour Medical — Local services in New York

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Velour Medical. This was my first time getting any type of injectable so I went to Marissa the PA and purchased a "treatment" priced at $1000 v. a measured syringe. As explained to me by one of their staff, the treatment price reflects the price of the filler to achieve the aesthetic result as deemed by the injector. One month later, it appears there is virtually no change in my lips. I received an email from Bailey asking me to write a review and my response was as such:

"After three weeks, it looks like my results are certainly undetectable! I am a little disappointed that there is barely any change from my "before" photos. It seems like all of my filler has disappeared and my lips are so thin. Since this treatment was expensive, I don't think I can come back for any adjustments. I will not be leaving a google review since I was hoping for a fuller look."

Bailey responded back to me and asked me to come into the office for a "follow-up to see if more filler could be beneficial / evaluate the results"

I made a follow-up appointment, and I was very transparent about not investing more money. When I arrived to the office, Marissa evaluated my lips and said there is a little filler but it is unusual that my results are not more pronounced since she injected 70% of the syringe. She agreed that my results were not as noticeable as other clients and told me she delivered her part of the service. She said "it is not her fault that my body metabolized the filler quicker than others". Marissa was quick to blame my metabolism rather than question her skills or consider that she may have used the wrong amount of product or the wrong type. She then proceeded to offer me a 20% discount on another $1000 treatment. I reminded her that I did not want to spend more money as denoted in my email to Bailey, an email that Marissa reviewed as well. I asked to speak to the owner of Velour, Michael Kennis, hoping that my visit to Velour was not a total waste of time but I was wrong.

Michael came into the patient room and proceeded to tell me that he wanted me "to be happy". I told him that I would be happy if they corrected the problem at no charge since I paid for a "treatment" and visible results were not achieved. Dr. Kennis proceeded to offer me a 50% discount. At this point, it became increasingly uncomfortable for me since it felt weird to be negotiating a prescription drug, especially with someone who would be injecting me with a needle if I agreed.

Overall, Velour's customer service is terrible. Michael Kennis and his team seem to be focused on extracting dollars over making customers happy. Even though Marissa claims she is an experienced injector, it did not seem like she knew how much to inject given my results. Run, do not walk, to Priya Patel. I have been seeing Priya for 2 years. She's a dream, and truly has played an integral in finding my confidence, especially as my career has become more public- facing. I have plastic surgeons in my family back home, and my expectations are hard to meet. Priya exceeds them all. 1) Expertise: Not all injectors are trained equally! Priya's background in both surgical and dermatological work as a PA shows in her technique, skill, and even how she runs a pristine practice. 2) Bedside manner: Priya is grounding, calming, and inexplicably patient - she truly hears me out, even after 2 years, with every concern. She never makes me feel rushed and is comforting when it comes to my over-perfectionist tendencies. 3) Results: She ALWAYS delivers, from re-shaping and lifting my browns with Dysport that rivals a surgical brow lift, to perfectly even and subtle lip filler, to helping me plan my goals over time (i.e. adding in under eye PRP). She understands my goal is to feel comfortable in my day-to-day and in front of the camera for work with little to no effort or insecurity so I can focus on what matters - my work! 4) Downtime: Essentially none. If a procedure may have it, she will explain and prepare me thoroughly. However, I have never had to stop my life for recovery. No bruising, minimal to no swelling.
