Came here for a quick snack and brought pastries for breakfast to each through out the week. I came in specifically for a mango cloud cake #2 from their menu online, but I didnโt find it so I got a slice of mango cake and my husband got the taro cake. I was sad they didnโt have the cake I was hoping for but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw they had lavender lattes and milk substitutes like oatmilk, I got mine iced. The cup sizes werenโt that large though about 12oz. They had dining area in the back of the cafe, we sat there to eat our snack and wait for our drinks w the buzzer they give you to avoid having customers waiting in the front of the door which I really liked. They had a lot of pastries available from savory to sweet with the ingredient list and calorie count on the label, that was very helpful and amazing to see. This place also serves boba which I didnโt know either till we got there my husband got the tarp milk boba it was very delicious as well. You can tell their products are genuine and authentic from their cake. My husbandโs taro cake was amazing soft and with delicious frosting. My mango cake was not good the cake seemed old. I wish the cake had more mango flavor to it and the drink sizes were larger. Overall it was nice experience I would...

I called to order a cake for my son's 1st bday and the girl that answered said I had to go in person to order if I wanted to personalize something. I thought this was odd but I went in to order anyway. When I went to the bakery to order the girl at the register tells me they don't take orders. I had to ask for her manager. She asked me to wait as he was helping someone on the other register. As he finished, she told him that I wanted to order a cake, he didn't bother to talk to me but told another guy to take my order. I was able to order the cake but they said they could not write on the cake but they will add a piece of chocolate with HBD on it for add'l $3. I agreed and placed the order with a specific time for pick up. Fast fwd to the day of the party. I was suppose to pick up around 9am but couldn't get there until almost 12. They still did not have my cake ready. They made us wait while they added the piece of chocolate with HBD on it on a cake they already had baked who knows how many days ago. The cake did not taste fresh and Paris Baguette definitely has similar chocolate cake that tastes much better. I am definitely not going back to Tous Les Jours. Overall bad service and...
ย ย ย Read moreI visited Tourette's on 32nd Street in New York around 2-3pm on July 9th. While I am in abroad, I tend to avoid any Korean owner shops as I often get slapped in my back by my own people, but my wife, who is a foreigner, recognised the name of Tour Les Jours while looking for a dessert shop and wanted to go. So I visited and had a ridiculous experience. If Tour Les Jours headquarter checks this review, please retrain your staff properly or withdraw as a franchisee and rather operate directly.
There was a man, a woman with glasses, and a slightly fat woman at the counter, and all three of them communicated in fluent Korean while working, so I confirmed that all three of them were Korean. The man and the woman with glasses seemed to be fine, but the fat lady seemed to be a little off-putting, starting with her attitude towards the middle-aged Asian lady (not Korean) in front of us while we were waiting at the payment counter. My wife asked if she could pay with cash, so I asked her in Korean, and she sighed and replied inaudibly that she could pay with cash. She took the money, looked down at the register, and gave it to me without saying a word, as if to say that since it is here, I should just take it and go away ('disappear'), which was ridiculous. I didn't even bother to call the manager and argue with her because she looked young and abrupt, so I just walked out. I don't know if she thinks it's okay to be rude (?) because she's busy at work and it's Korea Town in the middle of New York, but I just want you to know that it's way out of line with common sense.
When we left the shop, my wife also noticed that it was out of the ordinary and asked me if the way the shopkeepers communicate here is the way people communicate in Korea, not in the US.
Personally, I have been living abroad for more than 15 years and if I had to communicate in English, I don't have a problem with English or Spanish. I don't expect customer-oriented service like Korea and Japan, and I don't have huge expectations because I have been visiting New York for work, but I have never seen this service attitude anywhere, not even in a Korean shop. Even if I go to a small shop and buy water, people look at the person and say thank you, and a good day is basic among the basics. It seems that there are many tourists visiting Koreatown nearby related to Korea, but if you look a little, the low ratings on Google reviews are all about service management, so it seems that action is needed. At least I won't be visiting again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.
