DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! The food has no flavor whatsoever, the stinky tofu is not spicy and fried dry with no seasoning, the lard mix noodle is a guys attempted home cooking done poorly, the noodle were all broken up and the topping are dry and flavorless. Service is non existent, the ordering process is done with a tablet, the only two time you will see them is when they bring you the food and when you pay, you have press a little button to pay. Also, when I order a yogurt drink they never bring it to me, and told me that the customer was suppose to self serve with no written sign or instruction. Those level of service doesn’t justify the mandatory 15% tips. Even fast food place like McDonald have better service. Finally I would like to add that when I walk into the restaurant, I was greet not by a waiter but two tables fill with trash left by previous customers. Which is not great for a customer to walk into. You could be in flushing and take 100 steps in either direction and you will find better...
Read moreOverall, I had a very positive experience at Hunan Noodle. Service was friendly and did not take too long to give us our food. It's not a downside but just a fair warning. There is no AC inside. It does get a little toasty, especially if it's warm outside since Hunan Noodle is not its own storefront but inside a center with multiple restaurants. Hunan Noodle also has a great little sauce bar with chili oil, vinegar, and other options to put in your dishes. They have to go containers as well, which is super convenient! The only critique I will give is that their noodle dishes were a bit on the bland side. I'd like to think it's so you can add more flavor with the sauces available, but even when I added some, there was more flavor to be desired. However, I would still come back again to try their other dishes. And you can't beat their prices and the variety they have to offer. I 100% recommend their tomato and egg dish. I would come back to Queens just for that...
Read moreThe food here is really great value. I got the spicy beef noodles, the sticky rice with meatballs, and the stinky tofu. Everything came out to be $34 after both tax and tip (they mandate a 15% tip on all orders), which is a pretty unbeatable price.
The spicy beef noodles were really good, although I wish the broth were a bit thicker so that the noodles can be more flavorful. The sticky rice with meatballs were very nostalgic, but I highly recommend waterlogging them with the soup and putting chili oil on them. They don't have much flavor on their own. The stinky tofu have a really great aroma and are quite flavorful. The only note I have is that they could be cut smaller. Each tofu piece is about 3 bites, but most of the stinky tofu I've had in the past is 1-2 bites. This would help them absorb more flavor as well.
Also, there's free pickled vegetables, chili oil, peanuts, etc. It's all self-serve as well. Very calm atmosphere and...
