A friend introduced me to this place years ago and it's been my favorite Chinese-Korean restaurant to go to. So underrated and easy to miss spot. I mainly come here for their jjajangmyeon (N2. noodles with brown sauce). It's my favorite here and as of right now, better than any spot in the town area specifically this dish. Noodles are perfectly chewy and combined with the fresh aroma of the sauce, filled with sweet onions and baby chunks of meat- it's hard to find any fault with it! Maybe except that if you didn't know what it was, it's not exactly visually appealing. But taste wise... mmmmm!!
I've passed the word along to other friends and coworkers and they always ask to come back here with me. "When's our next Noods date?" Haha
Besides the jjajangmyeon, I also recommend their Spicy Seafood soup! It's not terribly spicy- just a tiny kick to your taste buds. The soup tastes especially good on a cold winter day. When I'm not sure what I'm in the mood for, I usually go for their N1, which is a combination of the jjajangmyeon and their Spicy seafood soup. A bowl split down the middle so you have half portion of each. Best of both worlds!
Also have had their fried pork dumplings. They're very oily but if you can overlook that, they're crispy yet juicy on the inside and filled with lots of meaty goodness. Also comes with a sweet dipping sauce. I don't get this every time but when I do- definitely no regrets.
Their kimchi is a hit or miss. Somehow not always consistent. But their yellow pickled radish tastes good especially with the jjajangmyeon.
Every time I come here, the staff are always nice and welcomes you at the door. I've always been seated right away and service has always...
Read moreMy boyfriend, myself, and my best friend with his children went to there for some thai food. We were super excited as it is close to our hotel and specifically waited to go there. When we got there, they sat us in this little corner and the lady came over and was like what do you want to order without even giving us menus. We asked for menus she came back over and we told them that the kids were gonna go next door but that we wanted to order. We all placed our order and about 10 plus minutes later a group of about 15 to 20 people came in. Every one of them was addressed and acknowledged prior to us. Then there was 2 tables next to us that came in after us and were treated and acknowledged and recieved their food prior to us. Another two more tables came in after us, ordered the all of their food was delivered while we were still waiting for our own! we questioned where it was and was just told it is coming. The party of about 20 people that came in also all received all of their food and appetizers and drinks still no food was brought out to our table for a party of only 3. When we asked again where everything was for the 2nd time as we mentioned that we were getting ready to leave they kept saying it's gonna come, it's going to come. at that point we finally decided that this is not a place that we want to be at. we were being ignored and our food order was completely missing and there was no accountability! sadly we left went to another Thai restaurant which ended up...
Read moreI didn't read the Yelp reviews before I tried this place and I'm glad that I didn't. After living in Atlanta nearly my entire life, I have now lived in a very tiny town in central Oregon for two years with no close large cities, pickings are slim as far as decent restaurants go.
While visiting New York today, I was aimlessly wandering around by myself in Herald Square, which is not a part of New York I am familiar with. I stumbled upon this beautiful restaurant and decided to give it a try. I ordered tofu pad thai, which I am SURE is not one of their specialties. However, because it isn't one of their specialties, I thought it was amazingly delicious. It wasn't cloyingly sweet like most pad thai these days, but it was perfectly spiced. I was so sad that I couldn't take my leftovers, since there isn't a refrigerator in my room and I was on my way to explore places I haven't been in NYC. This is the best pad thai I've had since Benjarong was open in Atlanta in the 90's. After Benjarong closed, I have never been able to find pad thai that isn't too sweet anywhere.
My server was really sweet. She seemed reticent at first, but she opened up when we started talking. I just got really good vibes from her and it made...
