I purchased an item from this shop. Yes, I was at the store, I used the card myself, and I entered the PIN. However, the saleswoman informed me that the screen was still displaying the payment details, indicating that something was wrong. She pressed the cancel button on the terminal. Another staff member then checked the system, and they asked me to contact the bank to cancel the transaction. Since the payment was showing as 'pending,' I couldn’t cancel it at that time. Once it was marked as a 'completed transaction,' I raised a dispute.
Later, after raising the dispute, I received a response from my bank stating that Superdry is claiming I walked out of the store with the goods!
I don’t understand how a reputed store like Superdry can deny a customer their goods due to a system error and later claim that I received the items just because I used the card and entered the PIN. I think the staff over there are doing this scam.
I showed them SMS notifications and Gmail transaction emails as proof of payment. However, they refused to accept them because their system didn’t show the transaction.

First of all, apparently you cannot redeem your gift card which is ridiculous and stupid. So I go to the store to buy a Parka which I saw online and since i could not buy it online I thought I would buy it in store. The FLAGSHIP STORE IN NEW YORK CITY did not have most of its products sold online (Ps. the other 3 stores in the city did not either). The store refused to order it for me so that I could redeem my gift card but the manager actually gave me a great idea. He told me to order the Parka online by paying cash, come back to the store and return and purchase it immediately using the gift card. Sounds good, right? No, when I did that, the policies had been changed overnight, they refused to issue me a refund since it was online purchase and instead asked me if I wanted another gift card for the return. (To get a refund for your online purchase you can only ship it back for which you have to pay and cannot return it in the store like any other brand). So now I still have the gift card and waiting for my refund after paying $20...
Read moreAs a big Superdry fan, this was a welcome change after visiting the Empire State Building. The store is quite big and has a huge selection of different clothes. We were told right away where to find what and where the changing rooms were without any questions. We were also served nicely at the checkout and had some small talk about our origins and how we like New York. And that's when it must have happened. Once back in Switzerland, I noticed that they had forgotten to remove the anti-theft device on a T-shirt. But when I left the shop, there was no alarm, the problem would have been noticed immediately and could have been solved on the spot. Fortunately, the anti-theft device could be removed in a clothes shop in Switzerland. Even though the small talk was nice, one should still forget to concentrate.
