I came into this store on two separate days—September 17 and 18, 2025—simply trying to have a peaceful and respectful conversation about Islam and the diversity of the Muslim community. I showed the employee educational videos of Muslim women from around the world, including from the Dominican Republic, Chile, China, and Korea.

Instead of engaging respectfully, the employee repeatedly asked me, “Are you Muslim?” in a way that felt like a trap—he clearly wasn’t asking to understand, but to provoke and insult me. When I calmly tried to explain that I felt he was being discriminatory and ignorant, he got upset and called me “sick” in front of others. I had done nothing wrong—no yelling, no aggression—just peaceful dialogue.

What shocked me most is that the day before, I had witnessed this same employee engage with another customer who was visibly angry and yelling, and yet she was treated more respectfully than I was. As a Black Muslim man, I felt targeted, humiliated, and discriminated against.

No one should be treated this way in any place of business—especially not for peacefully expressing their beliefs or trying to share knowledge. This is unacceptable and violates basic principles of respect, dignity, and...

BUT ...without question, it is the light, paper-thin, pounded out Chicken Milanese Panini that is among the best sandwiches I've ever eaten! Excellent quality! Lots of choice... From súper Fresh, farm-to-table 'bespoke" salad selections, to insatiable late-night Oaxacan-style Quesadillas Tlayudas, everything is hot, fresh, and made-to-order by a welcoming top-tier kitchen staff.

The location is especially beautiful, historic, and architecturally significant, so don't miss the opportunity to grab some grub, and eat outside in one of Manhattan's most famed neighborhood's.
