First and foremost, any ingredients added to a meal—especially something unexpected—should be clearly listed on your menu boards, printed materials, or any promotional signage that outlines what's included in a given dish. For example, if a sandwich comes with chips and soda for a set price, or includes an added topping like croutons, that information must be visibly stated and communicated by staff.

There was no indication—on the menu, signage, or by any employee—that croutons would be added to my order. How is a customer supposed to know that if it's not written or communicated? Customers shouldn't be expected to read minds.

More importantly, food allergies are a serious health matter. Adding ingredients without informing the customer is not only irresponsible, it's dangerous. If someone has an allergy or dietary restriction and you're including undisclosed ingredients, that could lead to a medical emergency.

This is not just poor customer service—it's a health code violation. I will be reporting this issue to the Department of Health. It is unacceptable to serve food with unlisted ingredients and fail to communicate clearly with customers, especially when it can put someone's health at risk.

I urge you to address this immediately because I'm doing a charge back with my bank and contacting City Council and the Mayor. You definitely have the right one!

Don’t ever waste your time with these rude, careless people again. I rarely even order food out because I bring my own lunch to work. Earlier this week, I ordered a spinach chicken Caesar wrap — but when I got it, it had croutons in it. I'm allergic to croutons. That wasn’t listed on the menu. I didn’t have time to come back right away because I’m actually busy — unlike some people — and I don’t always get a lunch break.

When I finally came back to address the issue, the girl at the counter had the nerve to dismiss me with, “Well, no one else complained. We always put croutons in it.” I don’t give a damn what you “always” do. If it’s not on the menu, and I tell you I’m allergic, that’s the end of the conversation. I don’t need your opinion — it’s about my health, not what “nobody else” said.

And then there were the chips. I eat chips all the time — from Trader Joe’s, bodegas, you name it. I know when chips are stale or expired. This girl tried to tell me, “Oh, we open a fresh bag every day.” So what? Just because you open a new bag doesn’t mean they’re fresh or taste right. An expiration date doesn't mean quality is guaranteed. Learn the difference.

Instead of apologizing, she argued with me and refused a refund because I “waited too long” to come back. I told her I didn’t have time, and she had the audacity to say, “Well, you could’ve just come back.” Really? You’re a deli worker. I have a real job. I can’t drop everything to run back here over a sandwich. I came back when I had time — and we’ve already talked about how I usually come at night when she’s not even there.

This was the last time I’ll ever step foot in that deli. They think stealing someone’s $11 in this economy is a joke? Keep laughing. You’re about to find out exactly what happens next when my entire UN colleagues boycott this place. Now I know why the worker in the night complains about you always crying and being lazy. He said you work 10 hours a day and still can't cut the fruits or veggies. You got enough problems to worry about. Under 23 and look 35 years old....
