So happy we found this new gem! This place, which is located on the top of another restaurant, carries good old speakeasy vibe that we all like. You feel it right away as you walk up dark red stairs and see a gigantic koi hanging above the bar. Our bartender Ricky told us about the cocktails, which made it easier to pick, as they all looked so good on the menu. We chose Toki Smokey and Hana Akiri. My friend loved his smokey drink and I still hear about it even days later, lol. I’m not a big whiskey or bourbon drinker, but the flavors were so light and Smokey, that even I could’ve enjoyed it. My cocktail was covered with pedals! I was admiring it with joy all night, plus it was truly delicious! Ricky, we will be back! Can’t wait to try more of your cocktails 😉

Intimate atmosphere and delicious cocktails, but the food was nothing special. We had the tuna tartare, which didn’t seem very fresh; the tuna was almost candied. The shrimp shumai’s flavor was good but the texture of the skin was gooey and soft, like it had been reheated. If we go back we’ll stick to the cocktails.

Hands down my new favorite bar in Williamsburg. The cocktails are totally unique and the Japanese speakeasy vibe is unmatched in the area. Ricky the bar manager - who I believe created all the Japanese-inspired drinks himself - is one of the most genuine, friendliest dudes I‘ve ever met (and makes a mean cocktail). This place transports you when you’re inside - a perfect spot to bring friends or a date if you’re in Williamsburg. Just know that you have to enter through Nem’s Bistro downstairs. Koi Ba is the area’s best kept secret. An...

I went into Koi ba last night with my boyfriend for date night. It was the PERFECT date spot! It's a speakeasy inside Nem's Bistro. The ambiance is dark and sexy with red neon lights and a giant Koi sculpture above the bar. I have the Okinawa Sawa specialty cocktail which had Coconut-infused whiskey and pineapple & egg white among the ingredients. SO good! The karaage chicken is so addicting, we could have ordered 5! Run don't walk to this new hot spot in...
