let me just say for a long time I have been going to this place. I have come across fun people and made may new friends and for this reason I didn't give it a 1 star review.
From what I have seen of this location so far it is excellent for a weekday happy hour. If your looking to have a couple of drinks with little people around I would go here.
Now the problems comes at night when half the hood enters the bar and screws up a good thing. I went this past weekend with some co-workers and was enjoying myself until someone stole my bag. Who ever this person was must have been the dumbest thief to ever exist. I can tell you for a fact they must have been some no class idiot.
They literally stole my bag in front my friend while I was away and went to the Mensroom with it. Went through my bag to only take my $40 earphones. The bag is a $100 fossil with a $60 battery charger in as well. The dumb ass didn't even steal that. The people at the bar found it there and if it wasn't for the fact that I knew a couple of them I may have never gotten it bag.
The shear thought of the lack of security and over filled capacity make this place horrific to enjoy with friends. Ever other time I'm in there someone gets a phone stolen right under their nose. If you ever plan to go here remember to protect your belongings. Someone will walk away with anything they can get their hands on.
Now as for the bartenders themselves they are questionable. I know a couple that will take you to their place if you get them drinks & hide it in the ladies room. One even gave me free drinks in order to seduce me later that night.
These bartender believe they are in power but the truth is as the paying customer they have no respect. One bartender ignored my order for 10 minutes because she had an attitude when I didn't compliment her pants properly.
To enter La Linea in the East Village is on your own risk. I would try a few other bars in the are...
Read moreI always have a good time here. People are quite friendly and the music brings me back (because they play throwback jams that I'm always looking to bump!). Drink prices are affordable here. No cover charge either! Happy hour lasts til 11pm on Saturdays ($3-$6 prices!) AND, unlike a lot of lounges nowadays, you don't have to buy a bottle to have a seat! Appreciate that. I will say this though: there needs to be better clean-up from staff during party time. Was there on a Saturday night and the floor got quite sticky and full of debris. Had to notify staff to clean the floor. Also, La Linea almost completely lacks a social media presence. That's no good in my opinion. It's hard to find out anything happening there or even convincing myself to go sometimes unless I am intentionally set on visiting there for the night. It would mean so much to see La Linea invest in more of its own visibility than having to search long & hard for the few hashtags or posts it's included in. But all in all, a good place to...
Read moreThis spot is a LES staple. All the people who actually grew up there know this a a great spot to turn up. The issue is the bar tender is awful. She made the worst drink I’ve ever had in my life. I wanted a mojito and she said they were out of mint so i got the next thing on the cocktail list a caipirinha. I’ve had caipirinhaa before and while they aren’t my go to they are pretty good. This drink was near undrinkable. It was legit one of the worst things I’ve ever tasted. My friend got a margarita and it was equally as terrible. Now she seemed like a nice girl and gave us shots on the house (also terrible something with a maraschino cherry in it ) but i think she may be lacking in her...
