Sadly after paying for my drinks the 'owner' walked out the store behind me and told me in front of other guests that I stoled from his business. I felt embarrassed because this was not the case and he misunderstood the transaction I had with the barista where he dismissed the extra charge. In my previous visits within the week a woman at the counter charged me $12 for 2 lattes and I always left a tip I must add. She was lovely. But this time around there was a man and I asked about the extra charge and he couldnt provide me with why he charged me extra. Something didn't add up and I asked why. The staff member said forget it. After being followed out I was also rudely told by the so called owner that I didnt even say thank you. ¿So all this because I didn't say thank you or because I questioned the extra charge? ¡Nobody should have to be treated with such disrespect, especially an avid CUSTOMER! Dont get coffee here, I swear. I said Thanks Alot but maybe he didnt hear because of my mask. ¿or maybe the owner didn't hear because he was busy speakin to the barista about his great time playing ps4 at home during quarantine? And I will report this and much more to the better business bureau. Classically, staff members who abide to law in nyc would NOT speak over my latte without a mask, and then with the owner? And if you're the owner, buddy, where's my 6 feet? I feel like since ya wanted to school me, I should school ya'll. I AM still VERY UPSET because I felt targeted and taken advantage of because of my attire. I AM NOT LIKE EVERYONE ELSE BUT IM RESPECTFUL AND I TAKE PRIDE IN BEING DIFFERENT AND TO MYSELF and from that neighborhood ALL MY LIFE. I dare you to take a look at the camera. The owner needs to be dealt with accordingly. This is not well. I really hope that he was only posing as the owner because an owner must...
Read moreA delightful little coffee shop, one I'd imagine is the set for the meet-cute in a Hallmark movie.
The cute girl, with an oddly rough exterior, who never left her hometown runs a coffee shop. Enter a world wide country music star, as he is passing through between stops on his tour. With a skin tight black shirt and a frayed baseball cap he says "One Lovely Lavender Latte please...ooo I like the alliteration on that" They share a burst of laughter and a short conversation, and she asks him what brings him to Jonesborough. He awkwardly stumbles so as to not give away his fame, as he has been DYING to meet a girl who loves him for him and not his occupation. "Just uh... passing through... headin to Nashville." She, of course, doesn't recognize him, but her whole staff is starring. After she hands him the Latte, their eyes meet for about a half second too long. You guys know the kind of sexual tension I'm talking about. All it takes is 0.5 seconds. They both snap out of it, but in turning around too quickly, he trips over a table and hits his head on a chair. She rushes to get a pack of ice and puts it on the bruising forehead...
But yeah my cold brew was great and my big bro gave his latte a 8/10! Big bro rarely gives anything over a 7.75! A great place to come for a quick coffee and potentially have a meet-cute...
Read moreLove this place - stop here for my morning coffee on the days I go into the office. The baristas are all friendly, and importantly, efficient. Prices are on the higher end, but I suppose that’s just how it goes with quality coffee shops in NYC right now. They use Devocion beans which is a high end specialty coffee roaster, so I guess it comes with the territory. They also sell bags of whole bean coffee for at home use!
The best iced coffee I’ve found in NYC and the Nutella banana bread is so good I have to remind myself to be responsible and not get a piece every day. They used to have an outpost in the little park right out front by the subway stop, I understand why they didn’t renew that lease but so glad this storefront is still there.
The decor here is cute too, I love the llama theme all over and they even sell their own custom coffee mugs now! I have to get one. I’ll come here for as long as I live in the neighborhood and commute on the F - this is a gem of a...
