Delight Bliss Euphoric I hope you this review brings you a little joy with your next meal here.
Plates I enjoy as Appetizers
Burrata: Delicious, love the pesto, it brightens up the dish, and no one has better toasted bread with butter.
Crispy Deviled Eggs: The touch of prosciutto and purple cabbage in this dish really takes it to another level. 10/10
Tuna Tartare: There have been many versions, I have tried the salmon tartare, the steak tartare, all are always prepared with care and fresh but the Tuna tartare is by far the best, the chips they have for it are thin and crisp. AMAZING.
Escargots: Another dish that is always being revamped depending on the season, but it is ALWAYS a 10/10.
Moules Frittes: Love the sauce, it is a white wine sauce I believe(that’s what it taste like). I personally want a little spice with my mussels but other than that it is great! Don’t forget, the toasted buttered bread is always perfection.
Kale Caesar: Soooo good. Just very refreshing, salad dressing is light.
Salad de Chervre Chaud: Holy s*! This is my absolute FAVORITE salad, that toasted goat cheese, WOW. If you want a light dinner, maybe you’re on a diet, maybe you just don’t want to feel too stuffed, then get it and add some chicken, it is not a boring salad.
Octopus: It is nice and crisp. Is it my favorite octopus ever? No but this definitely is up there, and can be a light appetizer if you’re having lunch.
Main Plates I enjoy:
Black Sea Bass: The BEST Black Sea bass I have ever had. This is my absolute go to when I come here(disclaimer it is not always on the menu because they change the menu seasonally so here’s to hoping it stays).
Duck Leg Confit: This duck leg is ALWAYS perfectly crisp on the skin and moist in the inside meat! Sooo good, love the salad it comes with and the crisp potatoes.
Boeuf Bourguignon: This is great for you if you’re the kind of person that needs a hearty meal, or if you enjoy sharing with another, or better yet if you love taking home your leftovers(and trust me you will not want to leave it). The meat is incredibly tender(soft like butter) and the sauce it is cooked in taste as though the meat has been bathing overnight in this rich, full-bodied, velvety sauce, you will want to dress your mash potatoes in it and savor every bite. They used to pair it with polenta and if they ever pair it again with polenta I’d recommend you jump at the chance of having these amazing flavors party in your mouth even faster!
Salmon: It comes with these crispy chickpeas. I don’t even like chickpeas but damn the combination of the flavors and the little crunch really made this meal feel complete.
Lamb: If you EVER, EVER, see this on the menu, maybe it’s a special, whatever it is, get it! The chef knows how to braise beef and lamb like nobodies business. Seriously! It is always sliding off the bone, doesn’t matter if they pair it with rice or potatoes, it will always be PERFECT!
Pastas: I recently tried Braised beef tortellini and WOWWWWW it is phenomenal.
If you ever see gnocchi on the menu, GET IT! Best gnocchi I have ever had.
Side note, if you ever see the items from this special Valentine’s Day menu, run to it! Get it! You will not regret it! ☺️
Dessert:
My two favorite things to order, is the Molten chocolate cake and the soufflé. All i have to say is WOW! It is orgasmic! I have taken a cab over just to have these desserts, some escargot, and my spicy strawberry lemonade drinks and I have never regretted it ☺️
Also huge show out to the manager! Her and the rest of the staff have always gone above and beyond, I’ve been going there for almost three years and I am so grateful this place is right here in Brooklyn.
My brunch review will be coming. I’ve had brunch here many times but usually I dig in so fast I forget to take pictures. Let’s just say everything is clearly fresh and made with...
Read moreA Terrifying Experience - Wouldn't Recommend
I had an incredibly unsettling experience at this restaurant that left me shaken and honestly, traumatized. I went for brunch and ordered steak and eggs. The steak was supposed to be medium rare, but the cut was so tough, I struggled to even cut through it. Things took a terrifying turn when I accidentally choked on a piece of steak.
I was gasping for air, pointing to my throat, and stood up to signal for help. Unfortunately, the staff just stood there watching me, completely unsure of what to do. They seemed paralyzed, and no one stepped in to assist. Thankfully, my friend had just returned from the restroom and was able to perform the Heimlich maneuver, saving me from what could have been a life-threatening situation.
Afterward, the staff awkwardly asked if I wanted to use the restroom to clean up, but no manager came to check on me or apologize. I was still expected to pay for the full meal, despite the traumatic incident. One of the male waiters did approach me later to apologize, admitting that he had no idea how to handle the situation. Meanwhile, another waiter asked if I was going to finish my meal, even remarking, “You’re probably traumatized, huh?” I told him I wasn’t about to finish the steak that nearly killed me. The lack of concern and empathy was mind-boggling.
There were no signs in the restaurant to show how to perform the Heimlich maneuver or offer any guidance in case of an emergency, which is something every establishment should have. Overall, the experience was surreal, and I left feeling unsettled and unsupported. I will not be returning, and I strongly caution others to reconsider dining here. A restaurant should prioritize safety and customer care, and this one clearly fell short on...
Read moreI’ve been wanting to try this place for quite a while! The restaurant itself is very beautiful. But there was weirdly a lot of stomping directly above that kind of interrupts the vibe.
Our server was incredibly sweet, attentive, and polite. But also very green. She didn’t really know how to pace a dinner or check in to make sure things were going well. Really not her fault, she just seemed very new.
The food is really what’s driving this review. We had the chicken liver mousse as a starter. The bread it was served with looked like a slice of white bread cut out with a circle cookie cutter. And it was stale. The mousse itself was drowned in an extremely sweet jam. The jam may have been ok if on the side but when it was 1/3 the jar it was way too much. Very disappointing.
For the main I had the chèvre chaud salad with steak added and a side of fries. It all looked like a very Americanized version. The steak was 70% fat. The meat parts were tasty but it was hard to eat with the regular knife I had. The salad was fine, nothing to write home about. The fries were the most disappointing, they were very overcooked and nearly inedible. No one checked in on us while we were eating so there wasn’t an opportunity to tell the server they weren’t right until long after we finished our meal. They removed the fries from the check but I’d have preferred they were just made edible! I love fries!
All in all I am pretty disappointed and am not sure if we caught them on a super bad night or if this is just the norm. I can’t imagine why...
