Lalin's — Restaurant in New York

Hello and good afternoon, today Mar 5th around 2:25pm ish I finished my work, and I needed to take a 15 minute break to get a little rest before going back to the station. I walked into the business but I wasn't greeted, so I waited a few seconds then I heard a lady say to the guy behind the counter "Now I'm in my 40's." So I interrupted and said, "no way she's lying, you don't look 40." That was my way of opening a friendly conversation so I can ask, may I sit down for a few because I didn't want to be rude and just take a seat without buying something. So the lady gave me a rude look and said, " I was quoting somebody" then left the store. The guy behind the counter then gave me a rude racist look, took his laptop off the counter that I was standing next to as if I was going to steal it, threw it on the ground and walked away from me without asking "how may I help you." Not to mention I was in full uniform... The energy in this building is so damn negative, I felt like I was in the deep South somewhere and I "didn't belong." If you're black please save your money, don't come to this business you won't be treated...

Although I only entered the cafe to kill some time, this place was an unexpected gem and left me with a pleasant feeling. The guy at the front was very friendly and welcoming, and asked how my day was. Along with that, I felt at ease and wasn’t rushed when picking out what I was going to get. But I had to take a picture of the menu since it was kinda far for a nearsighted person like me, which wasn’t much of a bother since the guy was patiently waiting for me.

They didn’t have the snacks on the menu, but then again, it was right at the front and hard to miss. So I ended up getting a lemon cake and it was pretty good, and the prices are also decent.

The atmosphere of the place was really chill, it’s a great place if you’re tryna study and get work done!! I ended up staying a bit longer than intended to. Definitely coming back for more if I ever need to chill...

I stopped by this café during an evening stroll, looking for a quick cup of coffee. The vibe of the place is great — stylish interior with good music playing in the background. The barista wasn’t particularly warm, and the latte art attempt was a bit of a disaster, but the coffee/ mocha itself tasted good.

The café has plenty of tables and even a backyard, making it a nice spot for remote work or just relaxing. I didn’t try the food this time, though they had a small selection of sandwiches and other items on the menu. One standout detail — the washroom was spacious and very clean, which I really appreciate.

Overall, I’d definitely come back, whether to get some work done or just to chill...
