I went to London Tandoori last Saturday night, just before they were closing, so it was just my daughter and me in the small, well lit, clean restaurant. It was my favorite atmosphere for an Indian restaurant, because it was so AUTHENTIC. We ordered several dishes which arrived in the traditional stainless steel which keeps the food very hot. Each dish was so incredibly delicious!!! I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve ever had such good Indian food in America. I have been to India several times and I have had good Indian food in London and this was still maybe the best Indian food I’ve ever had. They served a lentil dish that I can’t remember the name of it it starts with a T, but it is a lentil dish which I think I’ve only had one time before and it’s my favorite. We also had a dish with paneer and all of the flavors were so distinctive and so fresh. The mango lassi is divine and so is the rice pudding they so generously gave to us for dessert. I am looking forward to going to Brooklyn again mainly to return to London Tandoori restaurant! My daughter goes there regularly and wanted to share the experience and we both really enjoyed it!! Thank you to the staff. Many blessings....
Read moreI hate to be the bearer of bad news but this was below mediocre:( We LOVE indian food but what we got was not even close to our expectations. Especially because of all the rave reviews. My husband ordered Chicken Tikka Balti which out of everything, he agreed was fairly decent. (That’s what got the second star) we also got cheese naan and samosas. The cheese naan was puzzling... I don’t know what kind of shredded cheese it was but it wouldn’t melt and it had no taste. The naan itself was flavorless. The samosa was bland and had no peas... it needed to be salted and I feel that it’s insulting to ever have to salt Indian food... just saying. My entree was the lentil with garlic and basmati rice. Rice was good! Lentils were again bland-ish, not completely terrible but needed to be salted. I prefer Amy’s Golden Lentil soup over the dish I paid 11.99 for. It’s a shame because we were hoping the place that took over our beloved Mexican joint would be our go-to but we will not be ordering from here again,...
Read moreBeen looking for a new Indian restaurant in the area and decided to try this place out. It was empty on a Tuesday, so we were seated right away.
Very extensive menu of multiple tandoori and curry dishes. We had Lamb tandoori, Chicken Tandoori, a different chicken tandoori dish I forgot the name of, and chicken tikka.
Everything was really good. Tandoori dishes were served on a sizzling platter which was fun. I truly enjoyed everything. Everyone in our party had left their plate spotless, so that speaks volumes to the quality of the food.
Additionally, our server was very nice. He recommended us his favorite dishes and was attentive and kind the entire time. They even gave a complimentary rice pudding which tasted almondy and coconutty to me, it was a great dessert.
Overall, I would give this place 5 stars for service and food. Definitely will be coming back many times...
