We’ve eaten here twice now and were underwhelmed with the food both times. The main grievance being that the food lacked enough flavor and the ingredients felt cheap. The soup dumplings were too think and doughy for a place like this. The Shanghai Lo Mein was pretty flavorless and dry as it lacked enough sauciness. I almost wanted to splash my water on it, that’s how dry. The Shanghai Tofu tasted like it was packed with corn starch..super thick yet tasteless. We also got the spicy wontons but they came in a cup of jiffy tasting peanut butter and also lacked flavor aside from the dominating peanut. I’ve never had peanut butter wantons so am unsure if that’s a traditional dish or their own foul. It all left us feeling pretty bloated and sick both times too, I think from whatever thickening agent they use in their tasteless sauces. The restaurant itself/bar is very cute though, would be a great date spot if the foot was on...
Read moreI've been coming to this restaurant since it opened in its original location on Havemeyer Street. Sad to say I will not be ordering from them again. While I understand that times are tough, the prices have become exorbitant. Their Awesome Beef (which is indeed awesome) is $20 on their onsite dining menu, but $24 delivery and delivery orders carry a 10% service charge. To top it off, their menu states that each entree comes with rice (which had always been the case). We received our order without rice and when we called the restaurant to inquire we were told that it would be extra ($3). We told the person on the phone that their menu states otherwise but they gaslighted us saying that rice is not included and that they can't just go in and edit the website!!! I cannot believe how rude and awful the person was. It's such a shame. Their food is really quite good, but $51 for two entrees is just too much....
Read moreWe went again this weekend and happy to find their new location to be just as great with a back area similar to the last place. The food is still delicious and fresh and traditional which we love. The kung pao tofu was only a little spicy and delicious, the greens and fried rice arrived hot and perfectly fresh. The dumplings have actual veggies in it and the wrappers are made fresh every day. You should patronage this local place! The staff are lovely and friendly adding to a nice experience. The sign outside needs to be updated so more people can find it easily.
Definitely delicious and such sweet staff!! We go here often and it’s always tasty. There are lots of veggie options which we love. Definitely try this...
