This place was adorable! The setting was a rustic aesthetic type of look. I definitely would have taken pictures if it wasn't so busy. It was a very busy place, which makes sense. The almond croissant was amazing. Personally, I thought it was a little eggy, but still very good. The pistachio chocolate croissant was also great. It didn't have a super strong chocolate taste and was heavy in pistachio flavor, which I didn't have a problem with. My only complaint with that one was that the pistachio paste on the inside was a little too much for me. There was loads more there than needed and I ended up wiping some off onto the plate. Also, the lavender hot chocolate! I ordered it with high hopes, expecting a perfect harmony between rich chocolate and lavender. Unfortunately, the lavender was way stronger than the chocolate flavor. To be honest, I don't remember even tasting much/any chocolate. The lavender was on point, though. You could taste it very easily. On top were these dries lavender buds (that's the only way I can describe it). They gave it a cute look and were very strong when you bit into them. I didn't eat that many because I knew it was more for decoration than eating, but when I bit into the few that I did eat, it gave off a flavor that I assume an essential oil gives off if you ate them. It was a bit disappointing and I wouldn't get it again, but if you love lavender a bunch, this is for you! My mother got a flat white, but I am not a coffee drinker, so I can't say much about that drink. The only bathroom was roomy and clean. It was very cute as well. The staff were so nice, and the environment was cozy and inviting. It was a little pricey, as expected. The hot chocolate was $4.50. Both the pistachio chocolate and almond croissant was $3.50, if I remember correctly. The were 5 tables in the back, two of which being long with several seats. Don't bring a huge group there, or you won't find a seat, but a couple of people is the way to go! I definitely recommend!
I just remembered- I had a sample of the white chocolate lavender blueberry bread. Very sweet and...
Read moreWe didnât have a great first experienceâ overall supremely disappointing because it was the service not the food that left a sour taste in our mouths. We were happy to have a table open up as we arrived, the waitress was very nice and cleaned the table so we could sit. We ordered some drinks and the assorted pastries which the menu stated could only be eaten there and was not âto goâ. Our waitress asked if we wanted anything else and we said no, so she took our menu and left us to enjoy. Not even 10 minutes after our order arrived we were rudely approach by a male waiter who with a very unpleasant tone asked us for our brunch order. When we said that we had just ordered (pastries were barely touched at that point) he said that the policy was that only people who order brunch could sit there. When we asked why this had not been communicated to us by the other waitresses he said that it was on the sign at the front and basically implied that we should have known better than to sit down. He then proceeded to basically kick us off the table- brought bags for our pastries and a to go cup for our drinks. It was hostile and very uncomfortable. When my partner brought up the fact that the menu stated these pastries could not be taken âto goâ, the waiter kept up a nasty attitude and had basically already determined that we were in the wrong. I will say that when I mentioned being unhappy with the lavender late, he did replace it with a cappuccino in a take away cup, but as he put it down he also began clearing the table as if to say get the heck out of here. Very uncomfortable experience and seriously disappointed especially given the reputation of this establishment. Would not recommend if you want good food and to be treated like a...
Read moreAfter paying $25 for coffee and a small sandwich a woman came and rudely told me to put my technology away. She then showed me a sign in the corner of the room as justification. I told her that I was not told before paying and coming in to the coffee shop to work that I wouldnât be able to use my laptop, that this strikes me as bad service and that they should really put the sign up where it is noticeable at the door, or verbally inform customers if they have auch a rule. I had specifically come here to do some work while having lunch. She interrupted me as I was speaking and walked away to pick up a small sign near the counter (which was not visible when had I ordered and paid), to then yell at me from a distance to put my laptop away or get out. I started to ask another question and she just walked away. I finished my food as quickly as possible and then left, and she smirked proudly at me when I came to ask another server for a to-go cup, as if she had won a victory to have driven me out of the shop.
I am surprised the manager of this bakery would allow its staff to treat customers so disrespectfully. I hope it is an anamoly and that this person is appropriately disciplined so that no other customer is treated this way. However, based on other reviews, that seems unlikely and I for one will not return here.
I did not pay $25 to be so mistreated. It is one thing to have such a policy, it is another to be so rude and...
