This gastropub definitely has a lot of charm in terms of decor from high ceilings with pretty lights bookshelves booths to long sports bar with plentiful tvs. The service is great, i never wait long for a table and every single waiter and waitress I have encountered is friendly and never messes up an order and know the menu extremely well along with the daily specials. However the menu disappointed me, like the taco Tuesday specials are just buffalo chicken in a tortilla shell, not very mexican to me. I also think the daily specials in general is mostly fried stuff minus their pasta.the prices are also not reasonable, I totally get that they are located in a hotspot of midtown by msg with lots of tourists and high rent, but 30 dollars and up for fish and chicken items is pretty steep. Id say the sides alone for various fries or vegetables also range from 11-13 which is also steep, the soup alone is 12 dollars. Happy hour is definitely a better deal for drinks, you pay 12 as opposed to 16 for cocktails And the beer is 8 bucks as opposed to being 10 and up, wine is also pretty expensive. I do admire the taste of drinks themselves, they do a good job and the wine list is impressive along with tons of international draft beers. The menu on the website isn’t accurate as I see the brussel sprouts aren’t available anymore. In terms of food I tried here, every burger and sandwich/ wraps are good. I like the mustang harry burger, turkey wrap and the fried chicken sandwich. The chicken bites for starters are also filling and crispy, i can tell its not soggy frozen food, they also made it spicy which is important since my pallette likes spicy as possible. The fries here are also handcut and fresh. Now the mustang harry sauce they promote on many items here is really just a russian dressing so that dairy usually upsets my stomach and I recommend asking for the sauce on the side.what does need improvement here is the amount of salt they use, I always feel sluggish from their overload. Overall when you come here for either lunch or dinner expect to spend 40-50 but do come with a big appetite for their...
Read moreWent here with two other couples for a birthday celebration. Sat in a double booth along the wall. Our party shared the 'disco fries', which had their braised beef on top. OMG THIS WAS PHENOMENAL!!!!! I could have eaten the entire thing myself. Also had the steak nachos. Another delicious choice. For my dinner I had the "18 hour" braised short ribs. AGAIN, OMG PHENOMENAL!!! I wanted to lick the plate clean. The meat was so tender and delicious. Served with a side of sautéed spinach and savory grits. The grits were good but not my first choice. I would have preferred potatoes. My lady had the burger sliders. They were just ok, nothing special. Other friends had the Sheppards pie. Which was made with beef. A REAL Irish Sheppards pie is made with lamb. But not here. But still tasty. Other people had burgers, said they were good. The beers I believe were a 12 ounce pour. The cocktails were too small for the price. The server, a beautiful young blonde, Amber, I believe was very nice. But it did seem kind of odd that during our conversations with her she had used profanity while speaking to us. Not in a bad way, just in a way that you would talk to your best friend. But even with me being a chef for 29 years, I found that extremely odd to hear. But the service itself was good. Got to speak with the manager a bit. He was very nice. All in all it was a great time and we will definitely be going back. The bill was $250. between the five of us and we all had drinks. So for Manhattan, it's not bad. We will be...
Read moreWent to Mustang Harry’s last night before PBR at the Garden and had one of the most grueling experiences ever. I had made a reservation a month ago because it is close to the garden and has average food and drink, so thought why not. My reservation was at 5:30 and I did not sit down until 6:38. Over an hour wait time. I understand it was a busy night with football and PBR in town, but the hostesses at front were not helpful at all. At 5:15, we gave them a heads up that half of our party was there for our 5:30 reservation to check in. They did not give us a wait time for when we would be seated. As time went on, they continued to seat other parties and not us. We had been standing near the front monitoring the situation and the hostess said there was not a table available for us at the time. This continued for about 45 minutes with no answer or help as other parties continued to be seated. Finally, we were able to speak with the manager and he offered us a round of free drinks which was nice. Then, when we were finally brought upstairs, they tried to seat us at a private watch party and it was a whole mess. Finally at 6:38, we were squeezed into a small table near the bathroom. Mind you, we had to be at an event at 7:15, leaving us barely 45 minutes to and get the check and go. Overall, the food and drink is good, but think twice before going on a busy night, even if you have a reservation, because it might take over an hour to sit down. I will probably never go there again when I have an...
