NAYA — Restaurant in New York

I had a very bad experience with one of the employees, Leibel, on Friday. I went in to order my usual wrap and asked if I could add rice, which I’ve been able to do in the past. She immediately said “no” without explaining why, and when I asked for clarification or offered to pay extra, she still refused. When I asked to speak to a manager, she called him over but started talking to him in Spanish with a negative attitude and body language.

While the supervisor politely explained that rice usually isn’t served with wraps, Leibel continued to speak about me in Spanish to another employee, even pointing at me and referring to me as “esta” (meaning “this one”). When I confronted her, she rolled her eyes, shrugged her shoulders, and was very dismissive. When I asked for her name, she aggressively wrote it on paper and slammed it down.

I’ve always ordered this item with rice before, so the policy change was confusing, but the bigger issue was the extreme disrespect and unprofessional behavior from Leibel. This experience left me very disappointed and makes me...

Naya used to be my go to when I worked in midtown so I was excited for one to open up down the street from me. I’ve been to this location 4 times but my most recent time (12/3) I got bad case of FOOD POISONING from it. I got the chicken kabob and when I ordered it, the counter was out it so the guy told me to wait a few minutes for a new batch to finish cooking. The guy in the back took out the new batch and they put it in my platter. I ate it for lunch around 1pm noticed the chicken was a bit on the pink side but I didn’t give it much thought. Willy and the night time staff at Naya are wonderful. I go in almost every night that I work at the hospital next door. They are always kind, pleasant and helpful. Willy has even gone out of his way to ask for my name so he can refer to me by name when I come In which is very sweet of him.
