No customer service. The guy at the register racially profiled my coworkers and I. Not very welcoming energy! Very unprofessional But People in the kitchen were very friendly per usual.. We left *edited Now that I’ve read their response this further proves my point on their customer service. We do work for a non profit organization for children with autism . Unfortunately for us when working we do not have restrooms because we work outside. We normally politely ask facilities if we can use their restrooms etc. If they say no , we go somewhere else no big deal. Unfortunately this was not the case in this situation and I’ve personally never been in this facility before this. We intended to buy food so the assumptions in this response are incorrect.
But furthermore we are human beings it does not matter what we do for a living, we still take breaks. We never came in to the facility to just sit we in fact intended to rest and eat pizza after working so hard because it was actually our lunch time. Working in customer service if cashier had asked that he would have known. But instead he bombarded my colleagues with aggressive questions before we could put our things down which is why we left to a different restaurant to eat. As we know it’s not what we say it’s how we say it. So unfortunately for you , you were very wrong and if we didn’t look the way we did would we have gotten the same response ? The answer to that would be NO ! The issue is the not “race card” it’s micro aggression.
This review has no intention of coming for your small business. Maybe it can be enlightening. So if anything like this happens again there can be a different approach because it was wrong. You should be ashamed of how you approached people walking in to...
Read moreHands down, best pizza you’ll find in the UES if not NYC in general.
I’ve lived in this neighborhood for over 10 years and tried almost every pizza spot between 60th - 80th street in the yorkville area, and York Ave pizza is well ahead of the rest.
I’ll start with the crust. Pretty standard NYC pizza crust, just the right amount of thickness, crunchy and delicious, good crust-stability always. For the thicker grandma or pan pies it’s also crispy and delicious. The sauces and toppings really make this spot the best. Whether it’s vodka or classic tomato sauce, you can’t go wrong, but I will say they make some of the best vodka sauce I’ve ever had. My go to pie is the crazy grandma or grateful bread , where you get the perfect mix of marinara/vodka/pesto. The mozzarella is fresh and delicious. And most importantly they have SEXY PEPPERONI , the little pepperoni cups that curl up when cooked.
Their mozzarella sticks are also the best I’ve had, hand breaded and gently fried to a crisp im sure. I’ve also had their pasta and sandwiches, and nothing has disappointed.
If you haven’t tried this spot then get to it. RUN don’t walk to have one of the best pies you’ll eat...
Read moreYork Pizza in NYC is an absolute must-visit. I stumbled in with my mom craving something a little different, and the owner, Billy, went above and beyond to make it a memorable experience. We asked for a custom pie with a mix of our favorite toppings, and not only did he say yes without hesitation, he crafted it with such care and attention, you could tell he genuinely loves what he does.
The crust was that perfect balance—crispy on the outside, soft and chewy inside—and the ingredients were super fresh. The whole pie came out cooked to absolute perfection, with the cheese bubbling just right and the flavors all coming together beautifully. You can taste the pride in every bite.
Beyond the food, it’s the warmth and hospitality that really stood out. It felt like we were being treated like family. Can’t recommend this spot enough. York Pizza is what NYC pizza dreams...
