A Culinary Oasis in Williamsburg!
I have become a regular patron at Oasis restaurant, a gastronomical gem tucked away in the heart of Williamsburg. Having visited this delightful spot on more than four occasions, it's safe to say that the incredible quality of their food and service never wavers.
My go-to order is the chicken shawarma platter, a generously portioned feast of flavors. This enormous plate is laden with succulent chicken, perfectly seasoned rice, flavorful baba ganoush, creamy hummus, crisp onions, tangy pickles, and more. Every mouthful promises a symphony of taste that leaves you craving for the next bite.
What particularly stands out for me is the freshness of all the ingredients used in their dishes. You can taste the quality in every bite - whether it's the smoky and velvety baba ganoush, or their vibrant beet salad that packs a healthy punch. It's evident that Oasis puts a great deal of thought and effort into sourcing the best for their customers.
One of the many things that I love about Oasis is their swift and efficient service. Despite being a popular hotspot, they always manage to deliver your food promptly without compromising on the quality. This quick turnaround, coupled with their exceptionally affordable prices, truly sets Oasis apart from the rest.
In a nutshell, Oasis restaurant is a haven for food lovers seeking affordable, high-quality Middle Eastern cuisine in Williamsburg. Its delicious, fresh offerings and speedy, friendly service make it a must-visit dining destination. I can't wait for my next visit and the chance to explore more of their...
Read moreThis place used to be my very favorite in all of nyc and so damn consistent (even at like 1am), but has gone downhill since I started going to the old location 11 years ago. Before I would tell you there is simply no point in eating anywhere else in this neighborhood but now itâs not such an easy decision. The prices are still good which I greatly appreciate, but last time I went I was served old cold mushy falafel, and this time I had mushy undercooked (basically just steamed) chicken shawarma â I could get better stuff from a halal cart on the street for sure. The guy said it was because they serve a different one prepared in the oven(!) later in the day because the stuff on the spit is put on early in the morning and âalready done,â and therefore needing to be taken off the spit. I think anyone who has been to the Middle East (or even Berlin) would tell you thatâs not right, and that you need to gradually shave off the meat to get the correct crispy texture, which can still be done attentively over time according to your volume over the day. Itâs not shawarma if itâs cooked in an oven and itâs so painfully obvious. By not properly preparing food freshly and properly you are long-term doing a disservice to your customer and misrepresenting the beautiful cuisine of your culture. I want this business to be good and thrive so I hope they will take this feedback...
Read moreWent recently, ordered a chicken shawarma platter, and a few fattoush with few chicken shawarmas on the side. We were given ALL beef shawarma and no apologies offered when we pointed it out. They wouldnât take the food back either, even though we didnât touch it (we were still inside the restaurant when we inspected the bag of food). The cashier instead showed us the receipt from his machine, which only said âshawarmaâ but he was still convinced we ordered âbeefâ (when does âcustomer is always rightâ come into play?) we also noticed that half of the staff in the back were not wearing gloves when handling food....We walked out and came back to order sides of chicken shawarma, as my wife was upset that she didnât get her original chicken order (and of course we had to pay for it). The fattoush âcomes withâ a pomegranate sauce, as advertised on their menu, but they didnât give any sauce or dressing, which we only saw once we got to the car and started eating. When we called they said they donât have / give any pomegranate sauce (please update your menu) but would give us extra zattar/sumac on the side. Fattoush- without any vinaigrette type dressing? Total bust! Will say that beef shawarma platter was delicious and chicken shawarma meat was tender and flavorful too. But overall experience was NOT a good one. We will not be...
