The pizza here is really excellent, and best of all--you don't have to wait in a massive line with tourists! We got here early-ish, around 6pm on a Friday, and were seated right away, though it started getting busy pretty soon (they also do a lot of business by delivery).
Between the two of us, we shared two "baby" pies, the Margherita and Vodka. Both were delicious. I think you can always judge a pizzeria by their Margherita slice and Peppino's won me over with the first piping-hot bite. We came here on a mission for pizza so we didn't get anything else, but some tables were ordering salads and pastas.
If you're trying to decide between two "baby" pies (i.e. 4-slice personal size) or one large (8-slice), go with the babies. The price works out to be cheaper. It's possible the large pie has larger slices, but we found the baby pies to be perfect for two.
Peppino's has all the dressings of an old-school Italian-American pizzeria that you would expect, including black-and-white family photos set against a collage of famous...
Read moreThey have one delivery guy that is extremely shady and everyone should know about him. Hes an older man. He called me to go outside for the delivery and I have a child, deliveries should always be brought to the door always. That's not why I'm complaining. After I refused to go outside the guy had such an annoyed look on his face. Didnt say much and kept staring at me. After, unopened my food and I saw my food tossed up in the container like he either shook it a lot of just opened it when he was in the car the sandwich was demolished. Then I said "this might just be a coincidence" until I saw the water bottle was ALSO opened. At that point I realized that it wasnt a coinsidence at all (two things meddled with?) and threw I just the food out. I didnt know the guy would actually open up my food and mess it up and then proceed to open the water too? Weasel. Never ordering from this place...
Read moreIt is located in Park Slope, which is one of the very nice areas of Brooklyn. This place is known for the great brick oven pizza with garlic crisps, according to my friends. So, I visited there with one of my friends recently.
The freshly brick oven baked pizza (Margherita pizza) there was sublime. It was one of the best pizzas, which I had in Brooklyn and Manhattan. And it was significantly cheaper than their competitors in Manhattan or even Brooklyn. The quality of pizza in Brooklyn is generally high but this restaurant had significantly good one, in my personal opinion.
The staff there were all very friendly, helpful, and social.
The garlic crisps were also amazingly good with full of garlicky flavors. (I personally love stronger garlic flavor, so, it was perfect to my liking.)
They had Manhattan quality with Brooklyn price.
I highly recommend...
