Pom's Gourmet Market — Restaurant in New York

Food was good, but was over charged. A breakfast wrap cost me $6.99 which is a good price the juice $7.95 which is also an okay price for 16oz however I requested turkey add on to my wrap and it cost me $4.00 for two slices of turkey. Lady at register just thinks and picks any price she wants. When I asked she said turkey is $3.00 extra and $1.00 extra for being after 12pm since it’s a breakfast wrap. Didn’t see this policy any where and felt robbed. I don’t mind paying extra money or spending money on food but for some reason I felt like I over payed for 2 slices of turkey. With $4.00 I could of order 1/4 or 1/2 lbs of sliced Turkey from them. suggest the owners put a set price on addition to wraps and all items so customers don’t feel this way. Customer service wasn’t the best, lady seemed to have an attitude when asked question regarding juice sizes and prices. Nice deli, clean, wrap was good on...

I live right up the block from here, so in theory Pom should be a frequent stop for me. Both times I’ve walked in so far, I was one of the only people in the place. Given that, and the fact that the store is brand new in the neighborhood, it was a bit surprising that I was not acknowledged in the slightest either time.

The second time I visited, I was blatantly cut by the only other person in the establishment and the employees either neglected to notice or just didn’t care.

New establishments can take a while to get up and running, and I understand that. But customer service is the first thing that every business needs to get right, and so far, I haven’t felt valued as a customer. There are plenty of delis in LIC, and I’d rather walk 1 block and spend my $ with one who simply acknowledges my existence over one that doesn’t.

I have been coming to this “deli” for over a year now and it really is the last straw today. My review is solely for night staff - the daytime staff are wonderful.

First off, I completely understand the need to increase prices for food due to inflation. However, at almost $10 a sandwich, the sandwich I received not only was completely incorrectly made and burnt, but it there was more BREAD than the actual things inside the sandwich. I took the top slices of bread off and still only tasted burnt bread as I ate my sandwich. This is NOT the first time this has happened, however I am so disappointed at the lack of upper management addressing the night deli staff’s inadequacy.

Please, save your money and go elsewhere especially if you are looking for a decent meal around dinner time. You’re honestly better off waiting until the...
