Rosevale Cocktail Room — Restaurant in New York

recently had an extremely disappointing experience at Rosevale. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that this restaurant was not living up to its reputation or the photos online.

Firstly, the pricing is exorbitant for what you get. Despite the high costs, the staff was not accommodating in the slightest. Our 3:30pm brunch reservation turned into a rushed affair because no one informed us that the bar and kitchen close at 4:00pm. It was frustrating and misleading to be seated for brunch only to find out that service was effectively ending as we were just beginning.

The atmosphere was another letdown. The music was played through a poor-quality speaker, making it hard to enjoy our meal. Additionally, the decor in our dining room was nothing like the pictures we had seen online. It felt neglected and uninspired.

To top it off, the service was terrible. Despite splitting the check, my sister was charged for the entire bill. When we brought this up with the manager, they refused to accommodate us or rectify the mistake. We were still hungry and hoping to order more food and drinks, but given the abrupt end to service and the manager’s unhelpful attitude, we decided to leave.

Desperate for a better experience, we went to the Mexican restaurant next door. It was a night-and-day difference: the food was far superior, the service was excellent, and the prices were half of what we paid at Rosevale.

An unforgettable experience at Rosevale Kitchen + Cocktails! From the moment my friend and I arrived, we were greeted with a warm smile by the maître d’, setting the tone for a truly special evening. The ambience is vibrant yet calm, with a stylish outdoor patio that adds a refreshing touch of open air and relaxation. Sofia, our server, was absolutely phenomenal—polite, well-mannered, friendly, and incredibly thoughtful. She helped me choose the perfect drink, even bringing a wine sample that turned out to be a hit. Her descriptions were spot-on and made the decision effortless. The food was outstanding. My friend’s Pre-Fix dinner was beautifully presented—her shrimp dish looked like a work of art, and the lime pie was perfectly balanced with just the right touch of sweetness and acidity. Sofia’s explanation of the chicken’s subtle sweetness was accurate and made the dish even more enjoyable. Now, about the burger—I've had burgers all over, but this one was next-level. Cooked well-done (just how I like it), yet still moist and packed with flavor. The layers of pickled onions, Gruyère cheese, and sauce were absolute perfection. Sofia’s attentiveness and charisma added a magical touch to our evening before heading to a Broadway show. Her professionalism and enthusiasm made our experience truly memorable. This place is a hidden gem in a neighborhood of varied choices. If you’re looking for a classy vibe, above and beyond service, and great drinks - stop and just come here.

Hosted my husband’s surprise birthday (private event) in the Blue room upstairs. After some initial slowness in communication, the events coordinator Samantha was quite efficient in locking down the details and service requests (catered food, BYO cupcakes etc.) They were also able to accommodate a last min start time change which we so appreciated.

The Blue room is beautiful, comfy (like a posh library) and perfect for a date or intimate small gathering. We had 13 guests and it was just the right size.

Service, food, and cocktails were excellent and attentive all evening long. Special shout-out to Tensi (spelling? Sorry) our dedicated server who accommodated all of our needs throughout the night with a happy and helpful attitude.
