I won’t be going back to Russo’s. The mozzarella was the best part, but only the soft center had real flavor. The outer part was bland and forgettable. The prosciutto di parma was a pain to deal with — packed between layers of plastic that make it frustrating to separate and enjoy.
The worst part was the service. They tried to give me something I didn’t order, rang me up for it, and I had to go back inside and explain — again — that I wasn’t taking it. No apology, no acknowledgment, just attitude.
The staff were cold and rude the entire time. Not in a “New York” way — just genuinely unfriendly.
The ambiance tries to feel like an old-school Italian deli, but without any of the old-school Italian warmth. It ends up feeling like a hollowed-out shell of what Park...
Read moreThe best of all time. I am so lucky to live equidistant from their two locations in Park Slope. They have the BEST fresh pastas and sauces, which we always have in our freezer for easy weeknight dinners. Favorites are the vodka sauce, clam sauce, and puttanesca paired with their lobster ravioli, squid ink linguini, and bucatini, respectively. Their sandwiches are also the best: #4 and #12 especially, but really all. Also love to get meats, sausages, and Italian specialty items. The Calabrian Chilis (in a jar) are $$ but worth it and so good on pizza and in salads. Also love their fresh anchovies from the self-serve pasta bar. Love their panettone around the holidays. Truly don’t know what we would do without...

I've waited 4-5 trips and different sandwich orders to leave this review. The sandwiches here are absolutely subpar. Nothing special, nothing worth making a trip for, and they microwave most ingredients. For the absurd total price of $17 per sandwich / wrap, I've decided it is absolutely not worth visiting...
