i really want to like this place since it has potential to be a regular lunch spot for many locals in the area but it has several problems after visiting both the mott street eatery location and this newer storefront on bowery. iâve tried the pan fried and boiled pork dumplings and boiled chicken dumplings and not noodles or desserts.
dumpling filling is heavily salted in a way that makes my lips numb after eating and covers up flavor. these arenât dumplings that require a sauce or dip or but are not good on their own.
long wait time. they will say itâs about 15min but on three separate occasions it was 20+min making a quick lunch impossible. iâm literally waiting 3x as long as it takes to eat.
overall poor value considering the many faster, cheaper, tastier establishments in the area. i paid roughly $9-10 incl. tip for 8 dumplings.
i wonât be returning or recommending this place but hope the business can incorporate some of this...
Read moreThe dumplings took forever! My daughters and I came out to Manhattan Chinatown from 86th Street Bklyn Chinatown for a doctors visit and needed a quick bite. We ordered the signature dumplings. It took forever like 30 mins! A person before us waited so long he took it to-go. It tasted fine. Weâre not used to things moving so slow since food restaurants are so efficient and authentic and delicious in Bklyn where we are. The restaurant was clean though and you grab a table if you see available seating. Bad thing though I think the little kids with their guardians getting tutoring 2 doors down just hang out there after eating and donât leave. Also pretty expensive for 8 dumplings but I guess cuz the rent is expensive. $9 plus 8.875% tax for...
Read moreFirst things first, the owner Jeffery is an absolute delight. Next, this place is so clean, well-lit, and fresh, it really stands out as far as atmosphere is concerned.
The young lads behind the counter were super polite and friendly.
Last but not least the food was wicked. The dumplings (we call them pot-stickers down in the South), were unreal. They tasted exactly like the gyoza I used to eat when I lived in Japan. The fried chicken tasted exactly like the kind I used to eat when i lived in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Bubble tea was great, and they even have tasty ice creams that come in exotic Taiwanese flavors.
Overall a great experience. Stop reading this review, and just go...
