I liked the female campaign manager. Great job, lady! Owner of this place? Not so much. This is how he spoke to a me, and now a former friend... Enjoy.
Oh the irony. Your candidate calls his opponent a "nasty woman," and you're complaining about me and others who call out your ignorance as nasty? That's rich. She is a fabulously successful woman. And, sure that, I suppose ought to be lauded. But the fact is that what she is successful at, is utterly horrid. If your too fucking blind to realize the decades of progress she helped to undo, then I feel sorry for you. You are an upper middle class (yes that is an assumption) white woman. You, as a Trump supporter, DON'T GET A PASS. You are not some out-of-work coal miner in West Virgina. You simply don't fucking get it. I never considered Chicago to be flyover country. You hear reports and analysis that this election was a rebuke of the coastal elite. Well, guess what, it is clear that your middle-american ass needs to be coast-splained. To finish, on a high note, go fuck yourself. In every major way, You contributed to my daughters living in a country that is more ignorant, more hateful, more unfair, than anything you perceived before. So, I repeat, GO...
ย ย ย Read moreI work at Escape Guesthouse in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn and often get special requests for Shelsky's from guests that end up at our Brooklyn Bed and Breakfast from all corners of the globe. They are incredibly accommodating and really make my day awesome when I order from them. What I like most about Shelky's is that even though they usually open at 8AM, I have been able to develop a great working relationship with their staff, and they know that I try to have breakfast for my guests ready at 8AM. That means I can call them around 7:45 when someone is there setting up for the day, tell them how many guests I am currently hosting, and what they like to eat, and someone at Shelky's well get everything organized for me and I can run in and run out to serve my guests on time. They make getting amazing smoked salmon super convenient-- totally worth the expense. On top of it all, the staff is super friendly and knowledgable about their product. Bagels are tasty and our guests love it all. Thanks for being such a great neighborhood establishment-- you help make our...
ย ย ย Read more$20 for a small bagel/loxโฆ then .50c for ONE SLICE of tomato. f that.
edit: this is not about the cost of the sandwich, i have zero problem paying the normal over the top nyc prices... it's about the actual sandwich made. yes rent is expensive, hell everything is more expensive now - that does not mean you skimp on items paid for. if i am paying for tomatoes, maybe add 2 or even three slices, enough to cover the already small bagel? there is literally not even a full slice of onion, just a few measly wisps. other bagel places that are decently high end all get their lox from the same "acme" supplier, maybe yours is not and therefore much more expensive? but there was honestly not even enough lox for a normal sandwich. it paled in comparison to other decent bagel places. if you are going to go the distance and get good ingredients and pay your staff well, and charge a premium for it, i'm fine with that... but don't falter before you get to the finish line. make a worth while sandwich. sorry, i appreciate your response - but i stand...
