I was passing by and wanted to grab a drink, so I searched on Google Maps and came across this 5-star-rated spot. I decided to walk in without a reservation.
As I was checking out the menu posted outside, a male staff member with a noticeable mole near his lips greeted me. I asked if they had happy hour, and he said yes before leading me to a table. The bar was almost empty, with only two white women seated there, and the rest of the tables were unoccupied. Yet, he placed me at a corner table right next to the liquor storage area. At first, I didnât think much of it, but I quickly realized what was happening as staff kept walking back and forth to grab drinks from the storage.
Not long after, another customerâa young white womanâwalked in, and she was seated at a window-side table. I was stunned. Was I placed in the corner because I asked about happy hour? Or was it because Iâm Asian?
Itâs hard to believe this place has a 5-star rating. Service like this is not worth any tip, let alone my time or money. If I had known Iâd be treated this way, I wouldnât have set foot in this place. Absolutely disappointing....

Read moreWe visited Sorsoâ for the first time on an early Saturday evening and had a wonderful experience overall. The food, drinks, and service were all excellent. A special highlight was the chef, who welcomed us personally and offered thoughtful wine and food pairing recommendationsâsuch a memorable and personal touch.
One area we feel could be improved is the acoustics. The space is beautifully designed and intimate, but the hard surfacesâglass, mirrors, and flat wallsâcreate a lot of noise when the restaurant is full, making it difficult to fully relax or hold a conversation. Adding some sound-absorbing elements, like acoustic panels to walls or ceiling, would make a big difference in enhancing the overall dining experience.
That said, we highly recommend Sorsoâ for its outstanding culinary and service offerings and look forward to...
