My recent dining experience at Twenty Three Grand left me absolutely floored. From the moment we walked in until the last bite of dessert, every aspect of the evening was nothing short of exceptional.
To begin our culinary journey, we started with the Zucchini Tower, a delicate and beautifully presented appetizer that showcased Chef Ashley's creativity and skill. The Seabass Carpaccio was a symphony of flavors, and the watermelon tostada provided a refreshing and surprising twist. However, it was the agnolotti pasta that stole the show. Its impeccable blend of textures and flavors left me utterly impressed and craving for more.
For our main courses, we had the Roasted Salmon and the Breaded Tilefish. Both dishes were perfectly cooked and exquisitely seasoned, showcasing Chef Ashley's mastery of seafood. Each bite was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to using the finest ingredients and culinary expertise.
Dessert was a heavenly experience in itself. The chocolate cake with mango sorbet was a delightful marriage of rich, decadent chocolate and the refreshing sweetness of mango. The chocolate chip cookies with sea salt caramel ice cream were a perfect ending to an unforgettable meal.
Speaking of Chef Ashley, she is undoubtedly one of a kind. Her dedication to crafting each dish with precision and her innovative menu selections make Twenty Three Grand a culinary gem. It's clear that she pours her heart and soul into every plate, creating an unforgettable dining experience.
The atmosphere of Twenty Three Grand is equally remarkable. The dark, cozy, and elegantly lit ambiance creates an intimate and inviting setting, perfect for a romantic evening or a special celebration. The staff's attentiveness and professionalism added to the overall warmth of the place, making us feel like cherished guests.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Twenty Three Grand to anyone seeking an extraordinary dining experience. The food is superb, the atmosphere is enchanting, and the service is top-notch. If I could, I would dine here every day. Chef Ashley and her team have truly created a culinary haven that deserves every accolade...
Read moreI recently celebrated an anniversary at 23 Grand. Don't often write reviews, but thought I should as the evening was absolutely perfect. The atmosphere there is casual elegance but not pretentious. I would recommend reservations and with ours, the accommodating hosting staff had us seated quickly at our table in the main dining area. Rolando, our charming server, was attentive w/out being overbearing and we never once felt rushed. Our glasses were never empty, he was cautious about my shellfish allergy, & he checked in on us regularly - which brings me to the real star of the evening. The food. The food was AMAZING!!! We started with the Zucchini Tower & Tuna Tostado. The tower was light, airy and crispy. I was concerned it would be oil laden. It was not. The tostado was delicious and had a little of a kick. For our main course we had the Agnolotti - which was rich and sweet w/perfectly cooked pasta (I could eat that every day-mopped up the extra sauce with the bread) and the Roasted Salmon. The Salmon was probably one of the best pieces of Salmon I ever had. I was trepidations at first, but whoever thought to put a pastrami rub on a salmon filet is genius. It was unbelievably delicious. Flavorful and moist. Inspiring. Think I will try to duplicate something like this at home, but know I am not going to come close. Since it was a special occasion, we also had dessert. Shared two - I didn't do the ordering but both were delicious. We gobbled up one so fast, I am not certain which it was. However, the frozen berries w/white chocolate was a stand out. A cold, decadent, light, beautiful plate of perfection. All items coming out of the kitchen were a generous portion. Everything was delicious. The chef - I believe Ashley Rath - is definitely doing something right here. My anniversary was made very special. I will be going back soon - hopefully for brunch - and am looking forward to sharing this gem w/my friends while exploring other items on the menu. This place is perfect for any occasion....
Read moreI am so torn giving 23Grand 2 stars. Clearly it is a high-end place with happening vibes and unique decor. It complements the Modernhaus so well. The menu is simple yet sophisticated. There's a lot to like here. But at this price point, you need to REALLY nail it.
I had 3 things: a salad, the lobster pasta, and the Zabaglione dessert.
First things first - the pasta with lobster was just out of this world. The lobster was fresh and well cooked. The pasta was perfect. The sauce too was very complementary to the lobster and the pasta. But keep in mind, this is a $49 plate. It stood its ground but I felt like it was slightly overpriced.
Now the salad. Good overall. But just too much vinegar... And the cabbage was drenched in it. Don't get me wrong. It was a good salad. But at this price point, you really cannot afford this error.
Finally the unforgivable. For the Zabaglione, the mousse was great but for some reason, they added chili flakes and actual pepper corn (You can see it in the picture). Again, this is for the dessert. At first, I thought a few fell in by mistake but looking at the overall count, this was absolutely intentional. I am not sure what is going with the chef's mind but this is literal blasphemy and insanity. Why ruin a classic recipe and a fantastic dessert? If they wanted to give the persimmon underneath a bit of a "spice", you could've just sprinkled some cinammon. But no... it had to be full whole peppercorn... And literally this ruined my entire meal and night.
This is so weird cause even giving it 2 stars, I would want to come visit again. This one critical mistake would not stop me from returning and trying out other things.
But for this visit, it...
