Born and raised right here, always showing my support, but today I've got to speak the truth. I placed my order ahead of time and when I arrived, they hadn’t even started on it yet. But what really set me off was this: while I was still waiting, a lowly melaninated guy walks in, orders the same smoothie, and gets his before me! This kind of bias is something you might expect in some upscale downtown spot, but here? In our community? It's just wrong. Uncle would be turning in his grave seeing this. I'm richly melaninated, and we face enough discrimination as it is. Sure, I’ll keep coming back because this is our neighborhood and we need to support each other, but I don’t ever want to go through something like that again. They should've held his order until mines was ready, awareness is key and can lead us into situations where nobody wins. First come, first serve. First of all, there used to be a diff juice spot here called Jahlakoovah— that’s where I met Uncle, whom this place is named after, in 2017. My heart is so full on my great memories there— NOW to the present moment & this place: juice was amazing & spinach patty was delicious, y’all are doing a great job and your service and good vibes make me feel you’re reppin’ Uncle and his abundantly loving personality well!
