🍕 The Best Deep-Dish Pepperoni Pizza! 🏆

There’s nothing on the “Upside” at this pizza location besides the name. After passing this location several times, I decided to try it out. I ordered two slices and a Coke. The slices barely had any flavor and the cheese (which at first appears to be mozzarella mixed with ricotta) had no flavor at all. After tasting it may just be cheap cheese as a puddle of oil can be seen in the middle of my two slices in the uploaded pics. The pizza was also pretty burnt at the bottom as you can also see in the pics. Pricewise the cost for two slices and soda was over $8 (average for NYC). In this case I would rather have the .99¢ pizza down the block (Pizza Bros) which is much better and you get two slices and a Coke for $3. I would not go back or recommend this location. ***** Response to Owners Response ***** Please don't take this as a personal post, I am simply giving my review based on the pizza I received. When mentioned in my review it has no flavor it means it was bland. I didn’t taste the sauce or the cheese and the doe on the pizza simply tasted burnt. I am very familiar with good pizza and when I compare your slices to 2 bros it is because its right down the street and does have more flavor. Flavor as in you can taste the sauce and it has a slight taste of garlic. I know the cheese there is not expensive but it does taste like cheese. If I were to compare to another pizza establishment at the price range I would say Famiglias. They have a great pizza slice with lots of flavor and a very good pizza sauce. I understand brick oven pizza has a slight burnt texture below a slice but that's not what I had. It was passed that point. If I were to compare your brick oven pizza to another it would be Neapolitan Express around the corner from you on 7th ave. They have a really good brick oven pizza where the texture is slightly burnt but works well with the pizza they produce. I commend you for what you say you offer and the quality you offer, but, honestly its not coming across in the product. I love pizza and have visited several great pizza locations, but, just take a look at the pics and how can you say slices with a puddle of oil and burnt is good.

Upside Pizza - A New York-Italian Fusion on Two Streets Upside Pizza offers a hybrid experience that balances classic New York style with Italian authenticity, making it a unique stop on any pizza adventure. Conveniently located on two streets, this pizzeria is designed to capture foot traffic from all sides. The pizza itself is a delicious mix of crispy crust and robust flavors that make each bite feel like an explosion of taste. The dough at the back of the slice is thicker, giving a satisfying bite that’s perfect for anyone who loves a hearty end crust. The artisanal crust, crafted with a homemade sourdough starter, is thoughtfully created, giving a rich texture and flavor that makes every slice feel elevated. With each mouthful, you feel a seamless transition—from the airy crust of Italy to the savory cheese and tangy tomato sauce of New York. Whether you’re in the mood for a straightforward cheese slice or something with extra toppings, Upside Pizza brings together the best of both worlds for a memorable pizza experience.

I heard many positive reviews and love pizza. With it being a Noam Grossman and Anthony Falco collaboration, I was fine with paying $35 for a pepperoni pie. Which, as we all know, is expensive for a pizza. (They only offer a large size.)

I also love pizza condiments so, when I ordered, I asked for them on the side. They agreed to include them. When my pizza arrived, later in the evening, there were no condiments~ oregano, red pepper, garlic salt, etc. First, I was bummed, but let it go.

Then I tried the Upside Pizza!! It tasted like a salt mine with a hint of pepperoni. Pretty bad.

So, to deal with/cover up the taste, I called them and asked if they could send the condiments over. They told me that the person who took my order was incorrect. The chefs put he condiments they feel appropriate on the pizza when they cook it and there are not additional spices available.

So, I was left with the most part of a huge $35 salty pizza. Did not seem fair. Following, I called them and explained the situation. They told me was good?! Non-response. I asked if they take it back and try themselves. They said no. Gave me an email to follow you with. Said I should get an immediate response.

Still...
