If I could leave 0 stars I would!!! Upon arrival I was given a room on the 2nd floor and I immediately noticed that the air conditioner was running really loud and not blowing cold also the tub, towels, and wash clothes were very dingy looking all most brown as I was looking at the room. I let the front desk know so that showed me a room on the 3rd floor. Upon coming off the elevator on the 3rd floor a strong smell hit me in the face and it was very strong, to me it smelt like smoke!! I entered the room on the 3rd floor and looked around things seems fine air conditioner seemed to be running fine at this time!! Other then that their were grey stains in the white sheets on the bed, a stain on the computer desk chair, and the Bathroom tub could have also been a little more cleaner!! However I said to myself well this will do!! I went to go pick up food and came back to the room and tried to get comfortable as I was so exhausted and while laying down the same smell that I smelt in the hallway kept coming in going from inside the room now and it was so strong I couldnât hardly take it!!! And to make matters worse the air conditioner started acting up and it got hot in the room!! I went over to see if changing the temperature would help it out any and it didnât and it was so hot I couldnât deal with it anymore. I called front desk to let me them know and the woman who answer the phone didnât seem to truly be concerned about my issue, she wasnât apologetic, nor did she ever apologize!!! And she said to me I could show you a room on the second floor and I said, okay however if this one is not for me then I want to my refund so that I can find somewhere else to stay for the night especially since Iâm 6 months pregnant and all the said was well okay!! At that point I reached out to CORPORATE WYNDHAM!!! I told them the situation and all about my experience there at this hotel and CORPORATE WYNDHAM apologized to me and said to me after I see the new room that the hotel wanted to show me on the second floor to give them a call if I had any problems and I said okay thank you. I went down to see get the new key card for the new room that they wanted to show me on the second floor and upon getting off the elevator the whole hallway smelt like trash and I immediately knew why their were 2 huge bags of trash just sitting in the hallway which was not good nor was it a good look on the hotels end!!! I walked into the new room to look around and their was hair all in the bathroom in different places, the bathtub was not clean, and air conditioner was not blowing good the room was extremely HOT!!! I told front desk that I would like to request a refund and she told me that I had been there all day so she couldnât refund which doesnât make since to me because I was only there for a few hours!!! She only gave me $40.00 which really upset me because I paid all that money for a room I didnât even get to enjoy, Especially after a long day of doctor visits and being exhausted!! It was just a horrible experience!!! I called corporate to let them know that I had to leave. I mean I called back to back constantly due to poor communication and phone service on their end with back and forth from customer care center to the rewards center!! I mean back and forth!!! Back and forth!!! I was only told that a full refund request was put in about my stay, Then I checked my bank account and I noticed that it was 2 charges in my account 1 in the amount of $181.50 and the other in the amount of $171.50 so I called about it and the front desk woman did not explain the situation good to me and I am the one that is out of money in my account!!! She said something about a authorization charge for a hold of the room is for one of them, However I find that funny because because I thought and was only told about they put a $50.00 hold on the card for any damages to the the room and stuff stuff like that!! If I had of only knew that it would be any other holds other than the $50.00 hold this would have never been the hotel I would have...
Read moreThis was the nastiest hotel that I have ever been to and I travel a lot. My husband is a retired army CSM, and in thirty two years of traveling we have never seen anything like this.
We picked LaQuinta because we have a dog that has to travel with us. Normally we choose the ones that are newer even if it means we have to travel a ways to see our parents. Well, this time we wanted to be near my mother for personal reasons, so we picked Newnan.
When we checked in we were given Room 204. After several tries with my keycard, I couldn't get in. Waited on my husband to try. He tried and still no luck. He went downstairs, came back, still no luck. After twelve tries it unlocked. When we opened the door the first thing we noticed was the carpet. It looked like a dried muddy mess. Layers of dirt. Afraid to sit anything on the floor I sat everything on the desk and bed as I sprayed Microban. The cover on the chair was peeling terribly. Then, I noticed the window was opened. I tried to lock it. My husband tried to lock it. No luck. We both agreed it wasn't safe because someone could easily come in to our room because the ledge of the entrance surrounded the windows like a porch. My husband picked up the phone to call downstairs and none of the phones worked. I went downstairs to request another room.
I asked if we could be moved to another room, because we didn't feel safe and the room was not clean. She sent the maintenance man to check the window and he said the building was settling and that's why the window wouldn't close or lock. He explain that no one would be out there other than the people fixing the roof. I still wanted another room for a whole bunch of reasons. An elderly lady working there said she had one room left - 108. She asked me to go look at it first. It was still dirty looking. The chair had less peelings, the window was locked with no ledge outside so I said we will take this one. She said the phones hardly ever worked even before the storm. Everything was because of the storm she explained.
I went back upstairs to move our things. The maintenance guy asked if my room had been cleaned. I asked how was I suppose to tell. He said if it looks like it. My heart sunk. He said it should be but since they had a full house it may need to be checked.
I checked. I was upset because I didn't know the room hadn't been cleaned properly before I agreed to take it. No covid cleaning at all. No cleaning period. Items (necklace, bobby pins and hair) were left from people before us. I sprayed everything in the room with Microban and Lysol.
I asked about our canceling our reservation (was scheduled to stay 4 days) and she explained that there would be no refund. It didn't help that all the other hotels in Newnan were full due to the storm. So I cleaned the room myself, still afraid to put anything on the nasty floor. I also went to Target and bought covers.
About two hours later I realized I left an item in the other room. I asked the front desk and the guy told me the room had been sold, but I could get my item because the people hadn't arrived yet. He walked me to the room, and sadly the room was just as we left it. Crinkles in the spot on the bed where my husband sat to make the phone call. Crinkles in the spots where I sat my stuff. I grabbed my item and asked if they were going to clean for the other people coming since we'd been in there and he said they had already cleaned the room.
For personal reasons we had to get up early. When we returned a man was standing on the ledge of the room that we were told we didn't have to worry about anyone being out there. Glad we moved.
I let the lady at the desk know we was checking out and she explained that she could not check us out until 12 the next day even if we left. I told her I had an issue with leaving the room with our name on it knowing that they had no trouble giving the room to someone else. She said she understood, but there was nothing she could do....
Read moreWe have been staying here for over a month because my house is being renovated. By no means do I want to be here. The first week the GM accused my dog before she ever looked at footage of pooping in the hallway, when I had just walked him, because another customer "said" my dog pooped in the hallway and that she took the liberty to pick it up, instead of informing me my dog pooped in the hallway. She checked the footage & it was someone else's daschund that pooped in the hallway, she apologized & I have stayed out of her hair since then. Out of the month we've been here I have recorded 6 days that we haven't been given towels, & I'm 17 weeks pregnant. That's only the days I've recorded, there had been more. We told the GM, & we had towels for about 3 days and that was the end of that. I also had to switch rooms because the ac went out in the room we began staying in. When I called the front desk, the lady was rude & told me they had no other rooms but once the maintenance man came & confirmed it was actually broken, a room magically opened up. There is one front desk lady who isn't rude to me, and it's the night shift younger lady. my roommate who is also staying with us at the hotel, waited at the desk for a couple of minutes and no one was there (this was two days ago). She began walking down the hall and heard a few women laughing coming up the elevator. It was the GM the front desk lady & a maid. The front desk lady said "oh isn't that the girl who needs towels", & the other woman proceeded to say as she looked at the GM "oh no that's the other one, the one you don't.." & stopped herself right there. I know the GM doesn't like me, because of the dog pooping incident, but that was her mistake for wrongfully accusing me. Today I have gone up to the front desk yet again, & as I'm speaking the woman picks up the phone and interrupts me and begins having a conversation with that person instead of asking them to hold, while she finishes the short conversation that needed to be had between us. I also have my own proof of this incident, & the incident with the dogs and the GM being rude and wrongfully accusing me, is all on film considering it was at...
