My 1 year old has a milk allergy and I asked about every item I ordered for her : eggs, toast, grits, (all plain) and bacon. Waitress then brings buttered toast and tries handing me cheese eggs. Then I ask if there’s butter in my grits. Sure enough there was. But the waitress said “just a little”. Luckily I had only had a small bite (still breastfeeding so my daughter will be exposed). She will still react to this. I mentioned it to the waitress who offered to bring me something else but at that point I was too scared to eat anything from there. All of that isn’t the reason I gave 1 star. I gave one star because the waitress continuously joked that my daughter was a picky eater. Umm.. no she’s got a legitimate food allergy in which she is going to suffer because of the servers ignorance. A child with a peanut allergy wouldn’t have been mocked. A milk allergy can be just as severe. Luckily my daughters is currently GI contained but one day it may not be. And no this isn’t lactose intolerance. EDUCATE YOUR SERVERS ON...
Read moreTrust me just drive the extra mile to the one across from Kroger. So I’ve had multiple bad experiences with this place. This is the closest Waffle House to me so I keep giving them chances. Tonight was their last chance. I get there at 1:38am I know the time cause I called once I pulled up and she stood there and listened to the phone ring. So I get out to go in and order. Her nor the cook greeted me but ok whatever. She’s packing a Togo order so I take a seat and wait patiently. After 10 minutes of waiting she comes to cash out her Togo order and tells me they’re not taking anymore order they’re closed. I know for a fact her and the cook saw me walk in. Why couldn’t you tell me that when I walked in the place. It’s always something with this place. They never answer the phone and the last couple of times I’ve came they have been on a “limited menu” It’s confusing cause I thought all Waffle Houses are corporate so how can one have different rules than another that’s only a mile away. This must be the ghetto...
Read moreOn a three week unplanned roadtrip in the USA coming from the Netherlands; we quickly decided that the Waffle House menu offers something for every moment. So we visited quite a few. For some strange reason the people in this last one did everything different or just plain wrong. Only one in four wore gloves while handling food en the grill operator evidently had a blind spot for kitchen planning cause he managed to serve us a plate with cold everything and the cold steak that was seriously well done although we ordered medium. The "ice cold milk" was lukewarm. While we were eating this disappointing meal at the high counter; the same grill operator started emptying trashcans full of smelly waste in bags right in front of our noses. Still not wearing gloves. I dont want these people to lose their jobs but I think a stern and serious conversation about rules, hygiene, protocol and chain uniformity may be in order. They were all very friendly and serviceminded but apparently just didn't realise the...
