During a recent road trip along the Oregon coast, my family and I spent two nights in Newport and decided to try out Georgie's Grill, a place we had heard a lot about. Georgie's Grill offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere with stunning ocean views, making it an ideal spot for both casual and special meals. The decor is tasteful, with a coastal theme that adds to the charm of the restaurant. The service at Georgie's Grill was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, providing helpful recommendations that enhanced our dining experience. On our first day in Newport, we went to Georgie's for breakfast. I ordered the chicken fried steak, and it was easily one of the best I’ve ever had. The cube steak was clearly pounded out and breaded fresh, seasoned to perfection. It came with toast, two eggs, and hashbrowns, making for a hearty and satisfying meal. Make sure you bring your appetite! My wife tried the "Coastal Bowl," as recommended by our waitress. It included seafood, peppers, and onions scrambled with three eggs, topped with hollandaise sauce, and served in a sourdough bread bowl. While it sounded delicious, it was unfortunately lacking in flavor. The following day, we returned for dinner, and it was a fantastic experience. The cocktails were spectacular. We both had the maple old fashioned, which was sweet but not too sweet. My wife enjoyed it so much she had a second one. For dinner, I had the "catch of the day," which was salmon. It was perfectly cooked and breaded with Dungeness crab and Parmesan, served with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. It was absolutely delicious. My wife had the sirloin, Oscar style, cooked to a perfect medium-rare and bursting with flavor. She loved it. The star of the show at Georgie's is the clam chowder. It was hands down the best clam chowder we’ve ever tasted. You can taste every fresh ingredient—clams, potatoes, a creamy broth, and bits of bacon. Absolute perfection. Georgie's Grill provided an outstanding dining experience with its excellent service, delicious food, and inviting atmosphere. While not every dish hit the mark, the highlights more than made up for it. If you find yourself in Newport, OR, Georgie's Grill is a must-visit. Whether you're stopping by for breakfast, dinner, or just a bowl of their incredible clam chowder, you won't be disappointed.

Updated: another visit! Like I've said before, we just love this place, and our experience last time wasnt bad enough to keep us away. TIP: make reservations. If you dint, then you might be told there's a 90 minute wait. But tbh, we actually only waited 30 minutes. Started off with an avocado, served on a bed of greens, stuffed with a heaping mound of crab, bay shrimp, and scallops. Omg it was so good! Like a deconstructed salad. Delicious. Hibby had the cioppino he's been dreaming about for weeks. Only they call it fisherman's stew. The only complaint was that the squid was a little chewy. I ordered what was called Georgie's Roll, but what amounted to a California Roll. It's the first time I've ever had one. I was expecting a po'boy, but this wasn't too bad. The best part of dinner, though, was the Irish Cream Creme Brulee. So light, and rich, and creamy. Perfect. Overall, our expectations were met, even exceeded again. Great service, a lovely meal, and we were delighted. ********** We've been here a few times. Our past visits weren't spectacular. Last night was the trip that tipped this I to a five star for us. We waited a very reasonable amount of time for a seat. We didnt call ahead so we didnt mind a twenty minute wait. Our server was exceptionally friendly and efficient in the Saturday bustle. Hot bread pre-appetizer. Clam chowder was rich and creamy. Chunks of meat. Half order of coconut shrimp....mango salsa on point. Chiopinno was so full of meat and just the right amount of heat. The prime rib was so tender, but could have used a bit more flavor. All this plus a great view. Absolutely worth it this time.

Local favorite! When in Newport, Oregon this is a must visit. It is recommended by locals and will not disappoint. It's located on a beach cliff featuring beach views in the main dining room and bar area. Main attraction is self cleaning windows which is fun to watch. Parking is amble, however it does get busy at peak times so be prepared to wait. A great selection of menu items which feature local seafood. Calm chowder is a must try and delicious. Shrimp cocktail is another favorite. A friend and I both ordered the special of the day, flat iron steak with shrimp served with a bermaniase sauce, came with choice of potato (we chose baked w/cheese, bacon & chives $1 extra), veggies, and fresh baked sourdough bread with whipped butter. My friend's steak was not cooked to ordered, when brought to the waiters attention it was taken care of immediately. The waiter was patience, understanding and went above and beyond to make it right. Servings are adequate, prices are a bit high however quality of food is good, dessert menu features fresh local ingredients. Service was excellent, fast and even though it was busy we didn't feel ignored or rushed. Especially, great for a date/romantic evening or other special occasion.

Update 2023: we still make reservations online. We still visit Georgie's every time we come to the coast. Food & is always amazing! Updated again Aug 2020: Georgie's has become a must stop for us when we are anywhere near Newport. The chicken fettuccine alfredo & clam chowder bread bowl were very good, like everything else we've had there. You can make reservations on their website now. You won't get in without one. #covidlife Updated Aug2019: We went again 2 years later, because it was so memorable. We tried dinner this time. My Parmesan Chicken Penne was fabulous! They served the chicken with marinara over penne with alfredo & it was amazing. I also tasted the chili, which was really good. It was dark, smokey & slightly sweet. Everyone here is still really friendly, service was still speedy, & the view still unbeatable. Highly recommend. We'll be back again. They dont do reservations, but you can call & be put on the waiting list. Lunch-May 2017 Delicious, friendly, attentive, clean, great view! The onion rings were amazing! Prime Rib Melt ($14.95) = delish! Cod & Chips ($12.95) were more breaded than battered as preferred, but still very good. The wait staff was wonderful.

First of all it's super easy to park in front of this restaurant. The place looks very nice and renovated, the view is amazing ( although they gave us a table in the opposite side from the windows ). I love that it's kid friendly. Inside the kids menu they get a coupon to show at the entrance where they can pick a little surprise from a treasure chest. This is particularly nice to entertain them during the wait. Service was good as well! I would say that the food is hit and miss. The prawns with pesto and capers needed some extra salt but were nice, clams Sautee very buttery and I was not crazy for the taste (I wouldn't order them again ). My husband ordered a steak with fries and veg and it just looked very sad , especially the vegetables, they could've sautéed them I don't know it looked more like a meal that came out of a grocery store or a hospital rather than a beautiful restaurant with view. Maybe their breakfast is more outstanding I don't know. But I guess if you are local and go there a few times you may know better what is their specialty and what to skip.

My wife and I enjoyed Christmas dinner at Georgia's. The restaurant had a Christmas menu, prime rib, or ham and a seafood dish, but we weren't that hungry, so we each had a dinner salad and shared the coconut shrimp with pineapple salsa and a cup of clam chowder. The salads were a good size, with very fresh ingredients, including tomatoes, cucumber, sheese, and fresh strawberries. The ranch and thousand island dressing were both very good. The coconut shrimp were very large. There were 4 on the dish, with each shrimp large enough to cut into 4 large pieces. They were delicious. The cup of chowder was hot and oh so creamy. Big chunks of potatoes and clams. The server Jose B was excellent. Attentive with a great personality. The restaurant was very busy, with no empty tables but the service was quick and the food came out quickly too. The view is great, right on the ocean. I don't think anyone would be disappointed if they chose to eat at Georgia's!!
