Poblanos Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in North Charleston

Never have I been more disgusted with a restaurant in my life. I took my mother out for her Birthday dinner since you could sit out on the front deck to dine and I wanted to treat her to something nice. The food was good enough, but unless you're friends with the staff don't expect service. We waited twenty minutes to order, missing out on the lunch menu in the process, just for someone to ask if we've been helped. I had already finished my drink and it was completely empty, even the ice was gone but no one ever bothered to come refill it. After we ordered and received our food, we still had to end up waiting for fifteen minutes for silverware, at which point I even asked if I could get some more tea. The waitress that was serving us said that she'd go grab that right away and stopped at another table on the way. She took the gentleman's glass and returned with it, refilled, before going back inside. She then returned with a bucket and started wiping down vacant tables. I never did get my refill. A new waitress walked up and asked if everything was alright. I asked for the check so that I could just leave. She offered to let me speak to the manager, but I declined as I just wanted to go. As she brought the check, I noticed that it was incorrect. It was for another table and easily four or five times what I should have been paying. I hadn't ordered any alcohol, yet was being charged for it. I hadn't ordered half of what was on the bill, yet they were trying to charge me for it. I brought this to who I was told the manager was, and they said they would take care of it, only to bring me another check that was incorrect. I took my mother out for what I thought would be a good time out during such difficult times, only to have the waitresses that were working only tend to their friends. They'd hug and laugh and spend ten minutes or more talking with them without paying regard to any other tables. I was also under the impression that they were supposed to be wearing masks, most of them were but there was a waitress who couldn't be troubled to wear one and just kept it around her neck. I would offer 0 stars, but even that would be far more than a place like this...

Poblanos offers a vibrant and visually appealing dining experience, a welcome escape just a short drive from the beach. The restaurant’s ambiance is definitely a highlight, creating a pleasant backdrop for enjoying their authentic Mexican cuisine. And speaking of the food, Poblanos truly shines. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor, showcasing fresh ingredients and traditional recipes. From the sizzling fajitas to the savory enchiladas, the kitchen clearly knows what they’re doing. The portions are generous, and the quality is consistently high. However, the experience wasn’t without its drawbacks, and a significant one at that. While the food was excellent, the service was noticeably lacking. There were times when we felt forgotten, with long waits between check-ins and refills. While the staff was polite, they seemed stretched thin, leading to a less-than-attentive experience. To add insult to injury, Poblanos automatically adds a gratuity to your bill, which, in our experience, felt unjustified given the level of service received. Overall: Poblanos is a solid choice for delicious Mexican food in a beautiful setting. If you’re willing to overlook occasional service hiccups, the quality of the food and the restaurant’s atmosphere make it a worthwhile visit. However, be aware of the automatically added gratuity, and consider whether the service you receive...

THE WORST SERVICE I have ever recieved, we were seated then waited for a server for over 15 minutes, we finally got someone's attention and it turns out she was our server. We ordered our meal and only one came out, we thought odd but okay, 12 minutes later we got another server's attention and inquired about the s second meal, he went and got our server who didn't seem to care and not a single apology. While waiting I got the managers attention and asked if the dish that came out first could be warmed, he was apologetic and did so. We thought everything was fine from there. We saw our server once, the manager came over to check on us and inquired about the cheque. He was advised that we were ready, almost 20 minutes before the cheque came, the manager was on his phone and our server passed us 4 times before stopping at our table, to inquiry if we were ready! At this point I was beyond annoyed at the service we received. We once again waited to have the bill returned over 5 minutes and I can understand waiting for the card to be processed, but we could see her, and she had not a care in the world that she already ran the card and was just standing there taking her sweet time. WORST...
