I went to this location on Friday July 21st; now to preface this I’ve never really had an issue with this location besides the fact that the lines get backed up, which I understand so Id never take the time to write a poor review about THAT, but I digress.
My boyfriend and I got lunch around noon. I got a 4 piece fried chicken strip meal like usual and he got a grilled chicken club meal. This was the ONLY thing I ate all day. Around 6pm at work that day I got VIOLENTLY ill. I had to leave a customer at my desk to run to the bathroom to throw up among other things …
Needless to say I got food poisoning but it didn’t end there. That night I was throwing up and using the bathroom every 15 minutes. I lost 8lbs in a 24 hour period. I had a fever and haven’t been this sick in years.
Convinced it was just food poisoning I tried to wait it out. NOTE: I was around co workers, face to face with my boyfriend, around my father and many others in this time frame and NO ONE else got sick. So no, it’s not a stomach bug.
It is now Tuesday July 25th and I am still having symptoms from this. While I am better on some accounts, I was forced to go to the hospital because the amount of fluids I’ve been loosing has left me weak and dangerously dehydrated.
I had to get tested for salmonella, ecoli and other contaminant related Illnesses. Pending results.
On top of losing money by not being able to go to work, I’ve been stuck with a $900 hospital bill.
When I called to report the food poisoning to this location to make them aware of the situation, I was told by some “director” “I’m sorry to hear that, but we haven’t gotten any other reports so it really could have been anything”
Excuse me?
I understand that there’s probably a TON of people in the world looking for hand outs, but I didn’t call asking for anything. I called to report the situation because of SICK their food made me. And some pretentious CoNnOr sounding associate had the audacity to have this amount of arrogance in his tone.
I had to call a corporate location to have someone even remotely take me seriously. Which shouldn’t have been necessary. I guess after a report was filed at corporate some higher up at that rivers location called me back and apologized for my experience and offered my boyfriend a refund for the issues. She was much nicer but once again denied the possibility that it was their food that made me sick.
Needless to say. I know large corps. Have to cover their butts in situations like these, but this was extremely poorly handled the first time I called the location. And as much as they don’t care if I never go there again, I get some satisfaction that people will read this and maybe think of going to goose creek. Because I’m sure almost everyone can agree the rivers chick Fil a is one of the most slackly ran locations in the Charleston area, and MAYBE if someone hadn’t cut a corner, or been just a LITTLE more careful I wouldn’t have ended up in the hospital on a saline drip.

Read moreFor the most part, this particular location is always hectic. Some workers there are extremely nice and I absolutely adore them. Most of the time my or my coworkers’ orders are lost, given away, or sitting on the counter because someone forgot to bring it out.
Specifically today, my coworker ordered a meal and it was just sitting there. I was there for like 10m just watching it on the counter and not in the waiting area. I finally hopped to the register after watching multiple people ignore the bag, even bumping into it to grab sauces. I told the cashier that I really just wanted my order and said that it’d just been sitting there. She grabs it and asked if I got the sweet tea. I said “No, I haven’t picked it up yet.” Well, she cut me off and nastily said, “That’s why it was sitting back there, because it wasn’t ready yet.” Then she just walked off as I was trying to talk to her. I grabbed the tea from the pickup area since it was the only item in the order that was properly placed in the correct spot, and left.
I wasn’t trying to be rude or anything, but the cashier literally wouldn’t acknowledge me as I tried to get her attention. I’d politely said “excuse me” multiple times and other people were busy too. She was doing something else but she just came off as rude from the start. Normally if part of my order is sitting on the counter and it was forgotten about, they’re nice about it and it’s okay. She just seemed really moody and like she shouldn’t have been at the front dealing with customers. I know there was a drink in the order because my coworker told me ahead of time and the label said it as well. It was the fact that the drink was brought out first and the food was still forgotten about while no once checked in or called out a name. Someone could’ve brought out the food and told me that they were waiting on the drink (or vice versa) and I would’ve easily understood that.
Last time, my classic chicken sandwich was spicy instead of regular. I’d left the restaurant already and came back to have it be remade. I was waiting for a bit before I realized that it had probably gotten lost as it was a good 15m. When I mentioned it, the worker apologized but it wasn’t a big deal or anything. I felt pleasant after the two workers went out of their way to have it be remade and then to check on the remake.
I took off a star because the food isn’t always consistent. The fries have been tasting weird lately and sometimes they’re very pale and almost a little hard but normally they’re great. I had a burnt chicken sandwich a couple of visits ago. The atmosphere also had a star taken off because workers don’t tend to acknowledge you in the pickup area unless you’ve been waiting over 10m or so (I’ve waited longer before). The place is always clean or being cleaned,...
Read moreAm I the only person to constantly have issues with this restaurant? I am a loyal Chick fil a customer! I was a signature member before it was added to the status. I have over 85,000 lifetime points in their loyalty system. I eat a lot of their products. Yet the closest location to my house provides me horrible service on a regular basis, so much that when the location in Northwood Mall was open I would go to the mall and deal with that parking lot traffic rather than deal with the dissatisfaction of the stand alone store drive thru. At one point O was told by a so called manager that if they couldn’t meet my expectation that should find somewhere else to eat, great customer service, right? I can’t be the only person unhappy about the service, temp and freshness of the food, accuracy of my food. Tonight I ordered a spicy deluxe w/ no tomatoes, American cheese, extra pickles, they put a sticker on the box saying what is and isn’t on the sandwich. I got a regular filet, not spicy with tomato seeds and juice on it, 2 pickles Colby Jack cheese. Then my wife ordered a chick fil a deluxe w/ Colby jack cheese and extra pickles, she got a spicy surprise on her first bite and the tomato’s where two end pieces with the stem piece, great quality, right! I know if I to bring this up with the manager on duty, I’d just be disregarded, given move sub par food and irritated. How can we get this location to do better? Like I said I love to eat chick fil a, but don’t want to drive 20-30 minutes away when I have a location right by my house. Oh I almost forgot check out this cup they gave me, that’s for giving me this trash that spilled sweet tea all over my center console while I drove home unknowingly pouring sticky tea everywhere. Plus the fries were cold and hard as a rock just like...
