To me wendys is more than just a store. My grandmother was adopted by her own father. He had worked on the Titanic and was french. She had been placed with a Dutch farmer and met her real father at age three. This at least is how I understand the story I was only ten when she died and she spoke only French and broken English and Dutch. She found out three days before she died that she was adopted. She always thought her real father was her step father. From that moment on I believed in the power of adoption. And faith in the individual child. At age 12 I adopted. Family of four children. Their names were Danny Kenny Michael and Abby. Their parents had polio. I raised them until I was 21 making mother of the year. Friends in school did not know of my absence from all my classes. Time spent at home caring for family members. I was the youngest of six. My brothers and sisters all had left for college and to fight the war in Vietnam. So the gift of a family meant the world to me. Children for me to love and care for. I would cook for them. Making hamburgers was one of the things I could easily cook. Dad took me to Columbus Ohio to Wendy’s where I learned about Dave Thomas the founder of Wendys. This left a lasting impression. When I was 21 I had a royal wedding. Immediately I got pregnant just placing the rose on the alter of Mary I was pregnant. But I lost my child just prior to birth in an accident on Halloween. A month later I gave birth to a still born son. Another mother in the same hospital was giving birth but her child was born blue. It wasn’t breathing and she was too young. I was grieving over my son . The nurse asked if it was ok if I had a daughter. Of course I just wanted a child. So I held her close and she began to breath. She has been an incredible part of my life. Through my life my family size has increased and decreased through adoption. My youngest was born after my c section with my son. So I wanted someone who could care for her. There were people in my family wanting to adopt. Who were on the waiting list. I choose my sister in law. Knowing Wendys it eased the transition into her new home. I never had to worry about my new daughters home. One day I would work at Wendys. They offer hamburgers and the menu has expanded from not just hamburgers but also French fries and frosties. They offer a variety of salads also. And then added chicken and bacon. And fish for holidays. Sometimes they hire young workers. This gives them a chance to provide for themselves. I worked with the elderly and the children. I love the fact I can get gift cards. These gift cards help a lot I can send them to my son. And everytime someone buys a frosty it helps a child in foster care...

I also got the extra small Frosty because I supported one of their causes and the extra small Frosty is free when you purchase the key chain. I have a small appetite, so I ate the fries and the extra small Frosty only.
Hours later, I wanted the Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger. When I opened the burger, I immediately noticed the bacon that appeared to be uncooked. Because of my age, I know the difference between cooked and raw looking bacon. It looked disgusting!!!
I called the Northwoods Mall Boulevard Wendy's because that is where I purchased it and I got the unfortunate experience of talking with a manager by the name of Lori. Instead of her being concerned with the bacon that appeared to be completely uncooked, Lori asked me if I purchased the sandwich slightly after breakfast, why was I calling hours later about the sandwich. To begin, and since Lori acted as the "What time I should eat my sandwich Police", I wasn't aware of the fact that I had to eat at a particular time. What I do know is if food is prepared properly, I can eat it whenever I choose to.
In my opinion, Lori was very rude, extremely unprofessional, and lacked any level of proper customer servicing skills or positive conflict resolution. She told me that she was not working when I got my order. I asked her that as a manager, would she be proud if the pictures were forwarded to DHEC?
In my opinion, if you are qualified to have the title of manager, the goal is to solve problems at the lowest level. Not only am I forwarding a survey that only deserves less than a 1, but I also called the Customer Complaint Line.
In my opinion, Lori cared nothing about me as a customer, or the company as a whole. I expressed to her that customers deserve bacon that is cooked properly. I am a human being and raw bacon is not for human consumption.
I expressed to Lori that I was unsatisfied with the manner in which she handled the issue and that I did not feel as though she did a good job. She told me that I didn't do a good job either and hung up the telephone on me. Classless in every sense of the word. I called the Store Manager the next day. The Store Manager apologized and offered me a refund and another meal. I got my refund, but no thanks to the meal even if it's free.
In my opinion, Lori's attitude ran neck and neck with the gross, raw looking/uncooked/not properly cooked bacon. The bacon looked the exact same way as when you remove it from the pack to cook it.
When I went to get my refund, I showed the Store Manager the pictures..... even she frowned...
Read moreThis was the second Wendy’s location my family and I stopped at, hoping for lunch. It was definitely not your brand’s day. My husband waited in line at least twenty minutes while the woman behind the counter (not sure her name but she had to leave at 2:30 and wasn’t allowed overtime) went back and forth on a to-go over. Apparently the driver was there to pick it up and only half was waiting for her. I have no clue how that happens because the worker thought she’d gotten it all together. During that time, she joked around, laughing, and kept disappearing to the back while the inside line continued to grow. It was obvious those in the drive-thru were still able to order.
I’m guessing with the lack of being able to get overtime, even when the location is super busy AND YOU’RE SUPPOSEDLY HIRING!( there was a sign hanging around back), you’re of the mindset that the fewer workers, the more money you’ll make, similar to how it was during Covid but then, no one wanted to work for fear of getting sick.
Once this worker left, a young man took over and was probably one of the slowest non-multitasker I’ve ever seen. While friendly, he seemed to “worry” about non-important stuff while the line continued to grow with obviously annoyed customers. “Go somewhere else then if you don’t want to wait,” you might think. “You should be fired since you can’t do your job,” I would respond.
Now, based on other reviews I’ve seen of this location, you just don’t care. What a sad life you must lead.
I'm giving 2 stars because the food was...
